UV Bulbs

Actually then, a pet shop probably won't help. Their UV bulbs are UVA and UVB producing bulbs with visible white light. At least, the ones I buy are as they're designed to mimic sunlight. If you want blacklight UV you might have to look elsewhere.

And what pet do you have that needs such a light?

One thing you need is a lens that is relatively "non-coated", obviously as that cuts down the amount of UV that enters. Luckily, Ive got a stash of old Olympus OM lenses that seem to be rather sensitive to UV light.

Not really sure yet. Defo try some portrait, maybe some stiff life; both of those lit using the blacklight bulb. Im thinking of trying a Wratten 18a filter (or cheaper equivalent) and getting some landscape stuff.
