Im still about and mad to think there was another saints supporter just down the road from me in kikeel.
Great news on the Saints being saved and im more in for a supporters club for us Irish Saints over here then ever.
A few ideas i would like to put to the club would be a pre -season in Ireland for the start of next season and a trip to dundlk F.C for a cup to be played for called the Tommy Traynor Cup.
This trip will bring all the Irish Saints together and put all our heads together to start a network for all of us living here and share our interest in th Saints.
In due time i will be making a Irish Saints website but please with the help of the Saints Web Forum could we get back all the Irish Saints that were here to keep in contact and refresh our call for a supporters network for the North and South of Ireland.

I'm here too. Living in Kildare. I remember saints playing a pre-season game against St.Pats, must be around 15 years ago. Lost 2-1 I seem to recall. Don't think they've been over since.

You probably need to book a while in advance. For example on 21 Nov against Norwich it works out at £56 ster return yet the previous week for the Brighton game it is £69. The earlier you book the cheaper it seems to be.

Howya! Great to see a nice splatter of Saints supporters throughout Eire, especially one in Kildare! And here was I thinking I was alone!
I remember that Pats game well- twas my first time to see Saints live. Met the whole team (Widdrington, Dodd, Benali, Le Tiss) and they were friendly as ****. I knew there was only 1 team for me then. And I've never looked back!
Born and bred in Southampton but an irish woman got the better of me...!! Didn't realise how difficult it would be not being able to just pop down to St Mary's. Think i'll be returning back across the water one day.

There used to be the irishsaints.moonfruit site but that doesn't seem to exist anymore.
Anyone going over to the Ipswich FA Cup R4 game? - Also, an Irish Season Ticket Holders or regular match travellers?

Im flying back to Belfast on the 20:05 Saturday but with work etc, going to have to fly late from Dublin Friday night. I have Season Ticket and as cup games have gone so far, presumably I can purchase two tickets- if thats the case, I will purchase a second for you if you want? Obviously will have to wait and see what ticket details are when its announced (shortly hopefully).

No, im going to fly flybe dublin-southampton friday night. it worked out reasonable so just going to book in somewhere in southampton ibis/novotel (whichever works out cheaper!!). you should try and make southampton friday night, get a few drinks in etc. i've been going over regularly these last 5 years and only once met fellow saints fans from here so would be good to meet more!!
anyway, if you go to http://www.irishsaints.ie/ContactUs.html when pompey tickets go on sale, send a message through it with your num if you need one - and ill get in touch. plus if you send me on your details just mention "Belfast Art" and ill get in touch, maybe go for a drink before the game if we have time if your not about friday.

tell me about it, went to linfield newry a while back - train, match ticket, beer money etc......
im just back from the stockport game- was about 18k at it. im back over now for the mk dons game on the 9th (me and my brother) and then back over for the pompey game.
But yeah this supporters club needs to get on the road, i just flew back today into dublin and there was about 30 leeds fans waiting for a bus to bring them home. their league one just like us at the moment so no excuse why we can't do something like that.
seen redfunnel (isle of white ferry group) offer 15% discount for saints fans with season ticket on match days, no reason why we can't approach flybe (our club sponsor) to do the same or simular for us!! (we casn try at least!!)
anyway - www.irishsaints.ie is just the starting point. I got a big banner produced aswell so u'll see that at the pompey game!

I've just booked my flights for the Leeds game mate. Heading out on Sat 13 March on the 07.15 from Belfast City to Southampton with Flybe but I'm coming back with Ryanair from Bristol on Sun 14 March to Belfast City at 09.10 for £10. As for the Leeds game, i'm going to book the sat morn flight - city to southampton - not sure yet which flight ill get back yet thought, it is possible to go to gatwick after the game and catch the last flight back to dublin which i might do - just make a day trip out of it.

train to bristol one way if you don't book online is £18 and then £6 for the bus to the airport so for the sake of about £10, southampton is the obvious choice if you ask me!! Let me know what times your booking over and back and ill book the same. 2 more flights with flybe now and ill have 16 points (a free uk return flight!!) wohoo
I flew back from Bristol yesterday (from the mk dons game) and got the train - here is what i spent:
train booked online £11.50
newspaper £1

Bristol flyer to airport £6

Hey guys ... The Flybe flight to Southampton from Belfast the day before The JPT final is a freebie ... taxes only. Shouldn't be too difficult to get on a coach/minibus from Southampton's fine City ;) to Wembley (hangovers permitting from the previous nights excesses in town ) and back for a celebration party, then less than a tenner on the Monday return ... sounds like a plan if you book early enough ;)

I'd actually love to head over more often than I do. And it would be wicked to get some sort of an Irish Saints Supporters group set up so we could arrange trips- must actually log onto that site above for a start!

ok so we have the irish saints supporters club. check out www.irishsaints.ie and sign up to be kept up to date. We have arranged the pompey trip already and have plenty more planned over the coming weeks-the web site has all the details
regarding the jpt final - is that from dublin? where are you staying, we are going to try and book a hotel together - ibis wembley is most likely. you should book with us.
I was also at pompey game - was also in Kingsland.

Thats absolutely brilliant- fair play to you for setting it up man. Just joined.
Yeah the flight is from Dublin-London Stansted. Leaving at 6.30am Sun Morn, back 6.30am Mon morning! Crazy hours but I got the flights for 30e return inc taxes! Couldnt go wrong really. Havent given much thought to accomodation and tickets just yet! I have a couple of mates in Southampton, 1 of which said he'll def sort me out with 1 ticket. There's 2 others going over with me too though, and they dont have such a luxury! Ideally I'd like to have us all together too. Delighted to have discovered this site though- I was only telling the lads over there last weekend how I thought I was pretty much the lone Saints fan on the Emerald Isle. Apparently not! You can count me on on attending at least 1 or 2 trips over for league games before the season is out too... finances permitting of course!
Fair play once again guys.

i was there.... god damn brilliant and if my really short term memory serves me correct... around this time in 2007 we hammered wolves and went on a streak that got us to the playoffs...... dont want to tempt faith but is it happening again?!!!
Also, sat matchday programme had a section on walsall/saints in common.. ie players etc to play for both... under the heading "Irish International" was Chris Baird... what you think? was he an Irish Int. or Northern Irish Int.? They call David Connolly a former Irish Int..... makes it sound like the both played for the same Ireland does it not? Tiny detail but still......
On a different note but sort of similar... what you think of Duffy? Is it right a player not born in the Rep can play for the Rep?
What about this Tranmere game, i'm booked on the Belfast city - liverpool sat morn flight.

Same flight as me and the mate. What flight you gettin home? What flights you booked for the Leeds game?As for Chris Baird i would'nt really read much into them saying he was Irish international. But the English should know he plays for Northern Ireland, after all he was in the team that beat them 1-0 in 2005!!!! lol

I know some of you missed the Yeovil game thanks to that Volcano..... Ryanair allow us to re-book flights, so I have re-booked mine for the Carlisle game.
In the event that restrictions on flights still apply on Saturday, there is an alternative.
Bus from Dublin to Rosslare on Friday evening (dept 17:30 arr 20:40)
Ferry to Fishguard (dept 21:15 arr 00:45
Train to Southampton (Dept 01:50 - Change at Swansea and then again at Cardiff Arr 09:02)
Train to Fishguard (Dept 19:10 Saturday, change at Cardiff, then again at Swansea - Arr 02:00 Sunday)
Ferry to Rosslare (Dept 02:45 Sunday - Arr 06:15)
Bus to Dublin (dept 7:30 arr back in Dublin at 10:50)
I know its a bit of a trek, but surely worth it!!! Cost Approx £120 Return, depending on Train costs in Wales and England.
