206 for 7 at stumps. Could have been better - could have been worse.
We need to win this one - but we've been saying that for weeks.

236 all out. Rudolph didn't add many from his overnight total.
Once again, full bowling points (we've dropped one bowling point all season!). Now let's see if we can repeat the Kent batting performance and get a few batting points.

Our batting this season has been very variable and the ditto for the bowling. However, I think our single biggest problem have been the number of catches we have dropped this season. Hows o-called professional cricketers can drop so many catches is beyond me.

119/2 so making steady progress. If we can get past their total before stumps and pile on the runs tomorrow it will give us a chance to bowl them out for a second time, weather permitting of course (plus our ability to hold catches!).

Saturday looks like it's going to be a complete washout.

We're looking reasonable so far, then. Even Ervine has hit some runs! :D
Elsewhere, there's a ****ing weird game going on at Durham... Durham 146 & 108 v Kent 78 & 1-2
Could be some deductions there for Durham for a poor pitch given that 15 wickets went down on day 1 and 17 already on day 2!!

154 for 4 - Benham out first ball (Leg before) - hopefully we can press on.

It's official... we're in freefall again. 5 down now.
Time for the regular Dimi/Pothas rescue act :)

It really is quite pathetic how often this happens! let's hope tha NP and DM can add 50 or so together. We are still 70 behind Yourkshire's modest score.

Thing is, with the exception of Benham, they all made starts. Also, 3 of them got past 40, which is perfectly acceptable. It's average, rather than bad, but we do need Pothas and Mascarenhas to get some extra runs for us.

203 for 9 - and words fail me. How utterly unprofessional. Do they actually want to get relegated?? bring in some of the seconds.

its basically a two day, two innings game. all that has gone before does not count. Lets hope we can bowl them out cheaply, as our batting is very weak.

Know what you mean. Yorkshire's young leg-spinner took seven of our first-innings wickets, so I hate to think what he might do in the fourth innings if the pitch has worn further...

Doubt there'll be the dreaded inspectors' visit, as both teams made half-decent scores in their first innings. The highest innings total in the Kent/Durham match was 146, and the game was all but over after two days.

I expected Rashid to be on pretty early, but Hoggard's spell must have been poor - over six an over conceded. Looks like Yorks have now slowed the run rate, but no more than that.

I don't blame him.
You can guarantee that if we'd had a match like that where 38 wickets fall in two days, we'd have been docked points. Absolutely ridiculous decision.

When they were 55-5 I spoke to Jack Rudolph and he said the wicket was ok, just usual Yorkshire batting.
Spoke to Nick Pothas at lunch and he said there was nothing wrong with the wicket, just good bowling.
The fact we scored an unbeaten opening stand of 108 proves the point.
A very good and important win.

Although it's looking a bit better every other team has one or two games in hand. Let's hope for bad weather when they play catch up or just win our last four games.

This is a fair point, but it is all looking a lot closer than i thought it would a month ago. If we could get a run of form together we would stay up - so lat's do it!

That is now 3 unbeaten, hopefully we can stay out of the bottom two places now.
I did not see this result coming , and am extremely happy with it.[ The confidence levels
are obviously rising, and Tahir has made a big difference- and also well done to
James Tomlinson].
I did say I thought we would would go down, and would love to be proved wrong.
