We'll start off well, waste a few decent chances then Brum will take over the game, knock the ball around as if we're not there and stroll to an easy 2-0 win.

Phillips will also score and celebrate infront of the Northam, despite the fact that he's going to score up the Chapel end.

That ladies and gentleman is a fact.

Then there’s Southampton’s match with Birmingham. It’s got to be Birmingham hasn’t it? After all, the Southampton team is made up of kids, they’ve got no players, I reckon the groundsman will be playing next. Seriously though, I can see them shipping plenty of goals this season even though they didn’t do too badly up at Cardiff last weekend. Birmingham on the other hand have some good players, they have the likes of Marcus Bent, James McFadden and Kevin Phillips in their squad who all performed well in the Premier League so I see them doing well this season.

Birmingham will beat most people in this league this season, but wouldn't it be nice to give them a wake up call in the CCC. It won't happen but it'd be nice.

Saints 1 - Birmingham 4

Any thoughts on whether JP will shuffle the pack a little for the visit of Birmingham. Given they are one of the 'big boys' in this league it wouldn't surprise me if the likes of Rasiak and John figure more than they have done recently....

Need to play a few of the more experienced players i reckon:

Davis

James, Svensson, Perry, Surman

Wotton, Shniederlin

Lallana, McGoldrick, Holmes

John

That team may have enough about it to get some sort of result against Brum but their strikeforce looks very strong and our defence is still a bit creaky. Im going for a 2-2 draw but with us under the cosh for long periods of the game.

I'm letting my heart rule my head with this one. We'll sneak a lucky win after being under pressure for ages, and would have been thrashed but for heroics from Kelvin and Killer. Later on in the game as the Birmingham players become frustrated and tired a last minute corner bounces of Killer's arse and into the back of the net, St. Mary's goes wild as Killer sprint round the pitch celebrating his last minute winner!!

birmingham struggled last week at home but have retained some quality players. When we went down our players thought it would be a doddle in the CCC and so will theirs not to mention that we are nearly favourites to get relegated simply based on last season. There fore i am going for 2-2 with a devastating last 5 mins :P

I think really it will be a case of damaging limitations. Birmingham have a good squad but more importantly they have lethal finishers. It would be great to win but i think we might play for a draw like last saturday, and in all honesty i would be happy with a point. My heart says 0-0 with Killer taking motm again but my head says 0-4

I'd be very happy with a point from this game after looking at the players Brum have in their squad. I don't think Saints the height or strength to defend against them so might as well go all attack and hope we get lucky.

I see Birmingham winning by couple of goals. The way we are defending set pieces is a real problem in regards of our lack of height, Birmingham are a big side.

Having the Fizzy Pop favorites as your 1st home game after Cardiff away is the fixture man taking the P*SS. There strike force is the best in the devision, and you just know KP will be up for this fixture. Your side are still gelling so i would say you will be hard pressed to get a result.

The thing is though this could be exactly the right time to be playing them, this being our first home league game you would think the team will be desperate to put on a good show for the manager and the fans and Saints do generally raise their game against the top sides,so the fixture man might actually have done us a favour.

I bloody end up going...

... because even though I have said I am boycotting as I can't stand the fact that the club is STILL dieing under Rupert Lowe and the plc and I've said I'll never go again...

I can't fekking resist the temptation to support the team.

What a load of hostages to fortune by Saints best pundits! Is the theory that you predict a defeat so that the small hurt of being wrong is offset by the large plus of winning?
Saints 2 - Brumingham 0
As for the comment that Brum's strikers all performed well in the Premier League, if they did it was for teams that were relegated, or they dropped into the CCC. I'd back our young guns against their bunch of OAPs any day! KP is halfway to 70!

If you could just get this utter b****x out of your head, then you could just get on with supporting the team ;)
And isn't it about time you got your fiver out for the forum. It's not a PLC you know :)

Cant believe the negativity from what appears to be the majority of the posts.....

What has happened needed to happen, a clear out of the journey men, the has beens and those that simply are there for the money. We now have passion, pride and belief running through the team, players that want to play for Saints so why cant the supporters have the same belief??

Saints 2 1 Brum COYR!!!

Because unfortunately we have little experience or strength in the team and an unknown on the ability of our players at this level.

KP was voted the best player in this league last season. They have him plus Jerome, McFadden, Bent and O'connor, hardly OAP'S????
Personally i'm more worried about their midfield of Carsley, Nafti, Larrson and McShefferey who i think will be a bit strong for our midfield who struggled to dominate Exteter in this area in midweek.
