Apparently several ambulances were called to the madjedski stadium tonight to assist many Saints fans who had broad smiles stuck from ear to ear and were unable to stop smirking.
At the same time, many royals fans needed treatment after their jaws dropped so quickly they fractured upon hitting the terraces.
:D:D:D

On a wave of jubilation after an amazing victory yesterday I posted the original post in a very tongue in cheek manner.
To my knowledge no ambulances were called and no-ones jaw was broken !
I mean come on, to call an ambulance because someone cant stop smiling
And for someone to be so shocked that their mouth gapes open low enough to hit the ground
Everyone has a different taste in humour I know but surely people cant really read my post and consider it serious ... can they .....
ps ...... and when i say ' come on you yoofs ' at the end I refer to our young team not the gobby shyster element in our fan base !!!

It's alright for you lot, you have the NHS to take care of these horrific injuries.
EricofArabia & myself are stuck out here with ludicrous limited cover medical insurance which simply does not cover these types of injury.
It's just taken me 30 minutes of begging to my bank to allow me to put the cost of corrective surgery onto my credit card, (which of course took it over the limit)
At least now I didn't have to walk in through my front door sideways because of the insane grin, but I am worried about EoA, I believe he sustained severe damage to his lap and and lower back in the ensuing melee after the game. Not sure about the prognosis for Mrs EoA though, sounds bad.
Dangerous times indeed to be a Saints fan in a foreign land without the back up of the NHS.

I'm not sure what shocks me more, the original comments about the Chelsea smiles and broken jaws dished out, or the flippant nature of some of the comments that followed. Some people really need to take a long hard look at themselves. I would say I had a truly fantastic day out yesterday - great atmosphere, attractive football, friendly banter with the Reading fans. When I read about trouble like this it really takes the shine off the day. I was going to put this into my top 5 list of away games, but sadly now it drops right down to number 7. Why can't some people keep control of themselves after a bit of alcohol and a well deserved win. I've long been a proponent of Beer Licenses for fans - you can only drink once you have passed the strict tests and they can be revoked at any trouble - and todays news has solidified this in my mind.
I only hope and pray lessons have been learnt.

I think we really should be ashamed of ourselves, how dare people who call themselves Saints fans perpetrate such heinous acts. I heard on the radio that 5 people were arrested due to these events. I am sure someone posted on here that there were more than 5 people invloved though? What's going on?Is this another example of a small minority of mindless thugs getting away with murder (don't take that literally lol!)? You really have to question some of the methods the police deploy to manage football crowds. I think someone on here was moaning a while ago about being treated like a criminal when going to an away game.....well this is the reason why. If people learnt to behave in a sensible way and to enjoy the game (and result!) then we wouldn't need heavy handed policing and families could enjoy football without fear of this kind of mindless violence.

If this is a lie, it is in pretty bad taste.
The ambulance service works tirelessly and does an amazing job. When hoaxes like this come along it is only ever at the cost of the general public and the taxpayer.
Those ambulances could have been saving someone's life yesterday rather than following up on this prank call. This is worse than those idiots Brand and Ross. Whoever called them should be ashamed of themselves. If it was you, think about this: someone may have died because of your actions yesterday.

I will not be paying my £5 subsription again after the way people have acted on this thread. This thread is everything that is wrong with this forum and society as a whole. It is NOT funny to make prank calls.
It is NOT funny to tell people that some fans were hospitalised after the game (I didn't go the game but had family members that went and when I read this I got really worried. I rang them to find out if they were ok, but there was no answer. I naturally assumed the worst, rang the Reading hospitals and conctacted the rest of the family, but it turns out the person had just not heard their phone going off and they were ok). It is NOT funny to waste the time and resources of the emergency services.
It is NOT acceptable to start throwing insults about when talking about other forum members (as some have done).

WHoosh = the sound of something going over someone's head.
Clearly this thread went over your head..and several others...meaning that you did not understand it.
Perhaps if people actually read what was written, rather than just making a knee jerk reaction to what YOU THINK it is about, then others wouldn't feel the need to take the mickey.
The original post was quite funny; others have continued the theme as a result of the "knee-jerks" - whether they have gone too far is a matter of taste.
HTH :)
I think in this case Whoosh should be accompanied by the command "Smoke on!" a la Red Arrows.

People are too stupid to realize that 95 percent of the posters on this thread are being sarcastic.
Can one understand sarcasm.
By the way, everyone read the thread, except for Jawillwill.
Yep you are of course correct. I simply can't believe that this thread has descended into complete and utter madness simply because I failed to read the first post. I'm beginning to feel like a right plonker! :(
P.s. Thanks for the help with 'lol'. I have genuinely never known what that's supposed to stand for.

Would this be an appropriate time for me to say "whoooooosh" or "lol"?
I think I'm getting the hang of this newfangled craze of e-talk.
