    As the new season beckons the usual new kit launch has occured, Saints will be playing in Red and White next season, only not as we expected.



    Has Nicola Cortese taken the chant 'Red Army' too literally?

    Thanks to the wonders of the internet some surprisingly accurate kit mock ups have been circulating for the past month or so, but it was a surprise to most to see that not only will our team be walking out in not just a predominantly red shirt next year but also an entirely red kit. The away kit will be the polar opposite in all white with red pinstripe which while complimenting the idea of Saints being Red and White also raises questions along the lines of 'What are we wearing away to Stoke and Sunderland?' The launch of a third kit therefore cannot be ruled out.

    Reaction on the forum to this has been extremely mixed to say the least. Ahead of Saints return to the Premier League spotlight is this really a kit that reflects the club? Either way, it seems we are stuck with it for at least a season.

      I like it. Probably prefer the away kit, but changing anything gets moaning whatever

      If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Southampton play in red and white stripes. Or did. I suppose we can at least be thankful he hasn't got us playing in Italian blue (but that will be the third kit no doubt).

      i think last seasons kit was the best one weve ever had, i love yellow and blue as the away strip. i guess ill be saving my pennies for the next kit, just hope its red and white stripes next time. What are we gonna wear at sunderland and stoke away? better not be blue, thats taking the ****!

      i'm really,really disappointed. we are red & white stripes.black shorts & white socks. not liverpool circa 1980's. mess around with the away kit by all means but leave our history alone.

      prefer the away kit, the home kit is very disappointing really don't like it for saints.
      we need to start singing come on you saints , rather than come on you reds,
      we are red and white , not red

      I agree. Great away strip, but it's not Saints at home. SOS.... Save Our Stripes...!
