• Saints Confirm Yoshida Signing

    Our sixth signing of the transfer window has been confirmed with just over a day of the transfer window left. Japanese Olympic captain Maya Yoshida, a centre back has agreed a three year contract.



    Yoshida joins us from VVV Venlo in Holland where he made 54 appearances in two and a half years. He provides much needed experience at centre back and competition for Jose Fonte and Jos Hooiveld.

    Initially a defensive midfielder he will aim to provide a cultured influence at the back, the 24 year old is also a full international for the Blue Samurai and played in the same AFC Asian Cup final victory in which fellow Saint Tadanari Lee scored the winner.

      .although I didn't get his name , the Japanese goalie played a blinder in that Asian Cup Final... I wonder if ...?
