Pellè has departed St. Mary's after two seasons on the south coast.
Graziano Pellè has moved to Shandong Luneng in a deal which makes him the world's joint-fifth highest paid footballer.
The deal, estimated to be worth an estimated £13m to Saints, sees Pellè sign a two-and-a-half year deal with the Chinese Super League side.
Pellè joined Southampton in the summer of 2014, following his former Feyenoord boss Ronald Koeman to St. Mary's.
He represented the club on 81 occasions, scoring 30 goals.
His performance caught the eye of Italy boss Antonio Conte, who started Pellè throughout qualification matches and the final tournament of Euro 2016.
Pellè joins Pa**** Cissé in Shandong, where he will be managed by former Fulham boss Felix Magath.
Saints are not expected to dip into the market immediately, with Claude Puel likely to give chances to Charlie Austin and Jay Rodriguez, as well as Shane Long.
