  1. Slowly, but surely, Puel is building a team with great potential. Spurs have been really solid at home this season, but we put them under pressure for long periods. Some of our build up play was excellent, and there is good variety in the way we move the ball. Injuries and poor decisions from officials have undone us in recent weeks, but fortune can turn. I'm quite excited about what this team could achieve, if we can keep it together.
  2. Bitter result to take. We should have won it, but FF is too easy to score against at the moment. However, Puel has now shown what he can do when he gets time to work with the players. Bodes well, especially now we have a goalscorer. I'm going to be sad about this result for sometime, but focusing on the good bits, I am hopeful for the future too.
  3. Delighted by today's result. Sunderland were very poor, but they played ok for 25 mins. During this time Saints stayed strong and played for each other. This was such a welcome change from the home game against Wet Spam. I had been very worried by the body language and quarreling between some players, Jrod in particular, in that game. Puel has used the extra training time well as far as I can tell. Just need a bit of fortune and this season could yet be an improvement on last year...
  4. Jrod's attitude today was as bad as I've seen from a Saints player in recent years. Not moving for the ball, not talking to team mates except to moan, terrible first touch. No idea whether the rumours he wants to leave are true, but he played like a teenager that hasn't got his own way. Terrible way to repay the support he has received from our club.
  5. If vvd was off it would be all over the media. Huge fee etc. Calm down.
  6. I remember when we bought Lovren. The Lyon fans couldn't believe we were prepared to pay so much for someone they thought was a liability. They were celebrating. Boufal hasn't been confirmed yet, but this time the Lille fans are singing his praises on social media. Many are very disappointed he is leaving. They think he will shine in the PL.
  7. "You honestly thought we looked like scoring?" We had a goal disallowed, Long hit one past the post and scuffed a shot at De Gea when he should have tested him. There were other opportunities, which broke down. As Hojbjerg said after the match, Saints are a better pass or a braver movement and better finishes away from being much more effective. This is the journey we are on the season. I'm excited about the potential of this new approach. Not going to write it off after the first loss.
  8. This is the system that puel believes in. He got the job by selling his vision of how the system would work to the board. The board and puel will persevere with it. It is early days, but there are positive signs. The players will grow into it, and be improved by it. Bertrand coming back will help. A couple of signings will help. We lost last night, but were in the game. It was decided by a couple of close decisions from the ref in the end. I just can't understand why so many people are writing this new start off when we have only just begun the season.
