  1. Plan a) convert Jack Stephens. Plan b) mid-table.
  2. He's carried that scar tissue for 23 years ..... surprised his career ever recovered from not taking the job when offered to him
  3. Might be two promotion parties we go to this season, Leicester and Leeds on the final day. Always the bridesmaid etc ...
  4. Disagree about Hull. Although perhaps fortunate to squeeze the winner in before the final whistle went, the last 15 minutes or so had been one way and Saints deserved the win.

    Flynn Downes

Downes has been outstanding for us and vital as shown by the stats when he isn’t available. I’d be delighted if we sign him or keep him for another year ( but unlikely to happen). Only slight concern is that he seems a bit fragile at times. Not ‘Lavia’ proportions admittedly, but picking up knocks at a relatively young age is not ideal if you don’t manage to cope without him.

He seemed to manage it reasonably well for 60 minutes yesterday. But the changes they made, and RM substitutions bollocksed it.
  7. Thought our support yesterday was okay but a bit muted possibly on the back of the Leicester result. The ‘En-ger- land’ and national anthem were pretty counter productive in my view as it just seemed to wake their support up. Noticeable features in the crowd yesterday was some older bald bloke in their stand making gestures ( don’t some people ever grow up ?) , and another old bloke half way down block 121 with a constant clapping and chanting on his own in the first half. As for sheep shaggers I did hear their ‘2-1 to the sheep shaggers’ at the end.
  8. Compare this to the Cardiff defence who on occasion were throwing bodies into some last ditch tackles and blocks. Similar but to a lesser extent to Ipswich a couple of weeks ago. Cardiff’s GK also made a crucial save at 1-0 down. That’s not something we’ve been able to boast about much this season either.
  9. Plenty of others will though. He certainly won’t want another season in the Championship with us.
  10. Yesterday was a strange one again. Unbelievable from being in complete control, but at the same time all too predictable.
  11. I think yes, the pundits, FA, and Premier League are detached and actually believe fans only want the shit they serve up focussing on the big six etc. Whilst we want promotion to see Saints play at the highest level they can, it’s nice to be removed from the media circus, and put it on “ignore”.
  12. If we were looking to help AFCB shift players then Kieffer Moore might have made more sense.
  13. I like Brooks for his flair etc, and was pleased we brought him in. I think it was at a time Fraser was injured. But that Brooks fiasco yesterday was pathetic. Gets worse from every angle you see it. Wonder what happened to the player who controlled Bournemouth’s cup tie v Swansea ? Has clearly been reduced to the standard of the rest wanting to take too many touches.

    Play-Off watch

Would prefer WBA in the semis, then possibly Ipswich or Norwich in the final (I think Norwich may win that). But I fear we’ll beat Leeds in May keeping them down, only to lose to them at Wembley. We don’t fall foul of fuck-ups at Saints we breed our own.
