  1. FWIW, here’s a national newspaper focussing on us not the Opposition! It also makes Ings OOM https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/everton-express-is-derailed-on-south-coast-by-southampton-0b9mt7vrq?shareToken=ac61540d8a1a3331c825fe98b9694a66
  2. I met the guy recently; nice lad and he's hoping to play for England u 21,s in the summer tournament. I'm 6 ft and he's a fair bit taller than me!!
  3. Mmmm: if my memory serves me correctly Argentina is in South America and Ardiles and Vila did reasonably well for Spurs.......!!
  4. Us to win all our home games and draw all our away games for the rest of the season. All other premiership matches to be drawn for the rest of the season. End result saints are champions. Job done........
  5. Me thinks that the first name on the list was that man. Aka judas.........
  6. Full page article in today's Times by Rory Smith, one of their younger journo's about the new atmosphere after Cortese. In essence the article says that other premier league clubs are no longer scared of dealing with us which is why there are already bids for Adam and Luke etc. Lots of praise for the "southampton way" and our concept of self-policing of players who get lout of line, but a worrying article all the same. Not that it says anything new, but just confirms our worse thoughts!! Sorry can't give link as on the london train and signal crap.
  7. Surely the main point is that a lot of our matches against the top teams were when Boruc and Wanyama were out injured! Our supreme defensive record in the early part of the season, fell apart when those two were on the treatment table. It's a problem of having a small squad and might be vaguely related to the fact that we were in league one a few seasons ago and are still trying to re-balance the squad..........
  8. Wrt this new appointment, we need to understand that the average soccer club is not a huge business. Man Utd turnover £364 mill, which makes them a medium sized UK company. (I.e they wouldn't be a quoted company on the FTSE) An interim appointment to the CEO role of an ex Deloitte's man who is an FD seems to make complete sense. As long as it is interim....!
  9. on BBC sport rumours pager from Mirror: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-city-transfers-scott-sinclair-2193300? saints in for Sinclair as WBA dither over loan move. Makes sense with Punch having moved on. £5 million proposed. Is this Monk's last statement of one more being confirmed?
  10. Sorry, don't have the online version. Just reading it on train, so can't scant it. But it's from their lead football writer
  11. Sorry to put a dampner on the "the-we're-staying-up-celebrations-or-commiserations-if-you're-alpine". However, there's a lengthy article in the times football section page 14 that states that the club have been unable to reach an agreement to secure cortese's future for next season! The final sentence says. If he goes this summer it would leave a gaping hole that saints would find hard to fill! That would be a bummer! 12. BBC sportsday reporting via the echo that saintsf have just had bid £12 mill bid accepted for Ramirez.......... All we need now are a couple of CBs! Happy days-possibly

    Sam Baldock

For what it's worth Baldock is probably on the move as MK Dons have just signed "striker Charlie MacDonald from Brentford for an undisclosed fee. The 30-year-old, who scored 45 goals in his 127 matches at Brentford, has agreed a two-year-deal at Stadium MK." This from the BBC 5 live web site. Assume that he might be the replacement for SB!
  14. Wouldn't be better if we used 10 players to test this squad theory with the back-up......
