Centre Backs

First choice is January £1m signing from Crystal Palace Jose Fonte. Battling to be Fonte's defensive partner are the experienced Radhi Jaidi, January signing from Exeter Danny Seaborne and young Aaron Martin who signed last season from neighbours Eastleigh.

Central Midfielders

French youth international Morgan Schneiderlin is comfortable on the ball and he likes to sit in front of the defense and break out quickly. Former Colchester captain Dean Hammond covers every blade of grass to break down opposition attacks. Cover comes in the form of Oscar Gobern and experienced former Plymouth Argyle captain Paul Wotton.

Attacking Midfielders

Adam Lallana broke into the first team and the end of 2007/08 season and has this season made the left sided midfield spot his own. A naturally gifted player he has excellent technique both in distributing the ball and running at defenders. Jason Puncheon signed in January from Plymouth Argyle is the regular right sided midfielder. Brazilian Guly Do Prado on loan from Cesena provides competition both here and for the strikers.

Youngsters to watch!

Alex Chamberlain son of former England international Mark Chamberlain is a big prospect as an attacking midfielder. Nuture his talents well and he will make the right midfield birth his own. Striker Ryan Doble has already been called up to the full Wales squad despite not having played for Saints but looks a good prospect.

My tips for success with Southampton

  • Ask the board for a parent club and you might get a top Premier League team to loan some youngsters from.
  • Due to the big money backing from a billionaire's estate, spend the money very wisely to keep in the chairman good books as he doesn't have much patience.
  • Make full use of the strong youth set up at the club
  • Make Guly Do Prado's loan permanent in January if you can.
  • Try to loan quality young players from the Premiership and upper Championship clubs in problem positions.
  • Make a 4 year plan for a promotion push back to the Premiership.

Anyone else got Alan Bailey in their game? Saints U18 striker... there's no generated face on his profile, so i'm wondering whether he's popped up in anyone elses game at all? He looks pretty good...

He isn't real, he is a newgen. Everyone will have him on their game as the demo is a "quickstart", which basically is a savegame and everyone has the same savegame.

Matthew, have you noticed we have an agreed price of k875 for Guly but only 500k to spend so wont be able to get him anyway.

Smithies 650k, we dont get that kind of money, who have you sold? And Sh***u wants 14k a week and the board doesn't allow that either, especially with the other players you want to bring in.

And Assulin isn't in my save game!

Got Sears, Wood, Randall, Spence in on loan so far, tried to change the backroom staff and been rejected by my targets, oops!

for peoples' saves or stories...?

That is its intention. But also for Saints fans to highlight any data issues t help improve the game. Thus I have listed a lot of the data and you can point out places where changes need to be made to help improve the game for all Saints fans playing FM.

Why is Delgado in the list of disliked personnel? :?

He isn't the most poplar person (people are largely negative about him on these forums) for the way he acted whilst at Saints. IMO he was a very good player but came to Saints with a lot of baggage. These things are of course subjective and I will consider your point.

The transfer budget is flexible. Plus you can now ask the board to do the transfer for you.

Why are the finances only secure when we are actually very very well off ??

Saints still have a lot of money relative to the League and Cortese has a very high rating for resources available to him. The club no longer have sugar daddy ticked however.

And why is the training facilities only good when they are very good ?

Staplewood is not "very good" at present. Hence why they have plans to improve the facilities in real life. Remember this 1-20 is on a world scale.

Why is Delgado in the disliked personel ?

See post 28.

The capitals are the errors, jesus, nobody would have thought you did this at 1:30am would they :D

Also: I've had it crash twice now after the first game and then second game of the season!

Ok, played it for a while.

Why do i get SO MANY INJURIES.

Why is Frazier Richardson so so bad ? I mean terrible ??

Kelvin Davis is pretty poor too, infact you are told he is the worst player, which is slightly crazy.

Why can't i cancel loan agreements ?? Even after you get the pop up sayin 'Mr X has an injury perhaps you should cancel his loan agreement ?'

He is rated as one of the better right backs in League One. In any case he was rated by the Charlton researcher.

Again, one of the highest rated keepers in League One. Also coach/assistant manager reports aren't always accurate, especially if they haven't been at the club very long and thus don't know the players or have low judging ability & potential ratings.

Not strictly speaking Saints, but has anyone checked just how good Brett Ormerod's stats are in this game!?

Ormerod is and was a good player, just the usual anti-player mongs usuing him as their latest anti-saints player in the PL.

Without him Beattie would have had another mediocre season.
