Doubt they will ever fill it.

for £93m and 22.5k seats......for a curvy roof.....seems a tad over priced considering SMS was a third of that cost

will not even sell out the 22.5 once we put them on the downhill road come Tuesday. Loooks nice though if anyone has driven past it recently. There's a webcam online somewhere.

nice ground though, they will fill it. Brighton could potentially be a big club. Similar sized city to Southampton with a huge catchment area. I think they'll get crowds bigger than Pompeys, now that would be funny, the third biggest South coast club.

jesus....there have been some shocking reffing in some of the highlights....

Material costs have doubled and even tripled in some cases since we built our stadium.

It was because they had to remove all the chalk to fit it in. Their owner paid for it anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Anyway, Chaplows goal looked better than I remembered it. From where I sat it looked like a tap in, but it was actually a bullet.
Didn't do Barnards goal justice though.

Well taken goal from Chaplow and I didn't realise how good a header Fonte's goal was. Good to wake up of a morning and look forward to watching the replay

When it was Millwall's 125th anniversary they were the featured league 1 game, with old footage and the like.

We get 20 seconds in the round up and Claridge begrudgingly saying Barnard's goal was a good finish.

    Disgrace.

Interesting watching the piece they did on Brighton's new stadium. It's going to have 10,000 less seats than St Marys but is going to cost 3 times as much!

That'll be the dirty great hole they had to dig to get the planning approved. Its going to be a very atmospheric and loud stadium if its ever full.

The penalty that won Colchester their game was terrible. We could've used them drawing that too. Big brown envelope for that ref.

It's supposed to be built to a very high spec, St Mary's is very much a budget job.

If they go up they will fill it easy IMO. Plenty of people with money who want to watch young men run around in shorts down there.

Some rough old pitches on there too. I wonder want Dagenham and Redbridge's will be like by Jan 3rd. It is shocking already.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by Brighton's stadium. It's only a small capacity and it seems the only aesthetic bit of design is the curved roof. Inside there's a lack of symmetry and each end behind the goal is reminiscent of the old Milton Road end. Add in the fact that it's miles out of town and, even at 22k will probably be rarely full, and I think it's have a bit of a lack of atmosphere.

As samey and flatpack as our stadium is, I'd much rather have St Mary's than Falmer.

Yeah, but we'll always have more people who want to watch young men with shorts on running around.

Apparently every seat in the stadium is going to be cushioned, like the ones in our exec areas.

looks like a lot of corporate areas in the stadium?
at a cost of £93 million for only 22,500 seats ( £4000 a seat! yes realy!) i suppose the concourse will be of a high standard

Nowhere else to put this, but according to Orient fans the only times Bournemouth fans made any noise was when they were singing anti-Southampton songs.

Its an interest free loan that will need to be repaid. not sure how they are ever going to do that tbh!

You're right; one of the best stadia in the division, no doubt.
But I expect they'll build a treatment room soon...

I think the lack of symmetry is because they can extend one of the stands in the future. It's only just on the edge of town, surrounded by 2 university campuses as well, which should bring in a couple more punters on top of the hardcore ones. Despite it being further out of town its easier to get to than the Withdean by public transport. Not sure about the atmosphere, I've been to Brighton games home and away with some of my Seagull supporting mates and they're very quiet at home.

Just wondering about how easily Fonte was turned and outpaced for their goal...

Can't believe it is costing £93m and yet only holds 22.5k!

£80m loan to be repaid in 10 years could be even more now.

how many of our goals recently have been assisted from wide positions..?

I know someone working on the new Brighton stadium.

He told me it will hold 93m and cost £22,5000 to build.

    Bargain.

The Withdean is an embarassment. Isn't it about time Brighton built a new stadium?

Seriously? That would cripple them unless they got to the Prem, surely, even without interest?
