    im going to ascot next saturday. never been before. heard its a good day out. anyone been? allowed to take booze in?

    you cant take it into the ground, expensive inside though (if you can bear queing!) and the queues for the toliets...

    Live a 10min walk from the course but never been - too many hooray henrys. Windsor races on a monday night is really good

    Went once and met the Queen and her Aide sizing up the horse-flesh. Probably a bit more security these days, sadly.

    Going as well. Been to the king george for the last ten years or so. Really nice meet, busy but not stupidly so. Much better that royal ascot and the grand national (which is mental). You will have a good time.

    No, you can't take booze in.
