Default Saints are 12/13 to finish top half of the PL

Just seen this on Sky Bet - now, I'm not a huge gambling man - BUT, £10 on to make £130 could be very fruitful indeed?

    12/13 or 13/1?

I did think it should read 13/1 but it's on the same page as the latest Clyne story and it reads 12/13 - unless I've lost the plot :-(

Not a bad price though. I'm going to do it as I think 11th or 12th is within our reach.

Apart from United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton - i Think we can beat/take points off the rest off them!

I would hope we could sneak a point off the last 5 on your list too, particularly at home

.....and last season the first 3 all lost to low opposition at some point

If that's 13-1 to finish top half I'm having a slice of that. I'm still convinced we'll finish top 8 (said the man who predicted auto promotions the last two seasons....)

7/1 is the price for a top half finish...very stingy! Will wait to see what the points quote is on the spreads.

Just been on the site. The 12/13 is the season years (i.e. 2012 and 2013). Saints are 7-1 to finish top half, here: http://www.skybet.com/football/premi...event/14173594

Although we, together with Reading, are the longest odds to finish in the top half.

I see Man City are 1-7 odds on to beat us on the opening day of the season. With Saints 14-1 to win. 11-2 the draw.

I was going to say... Pretty sure we were favourites for relegation 2 weeks ago with Reading

Thats an average of almost 10-1 against Saints getting a result (win or draw). Damn good odds for the first game of the season.

I'd wait until after the first 4 games when we've been spanked by the top 3 teams in the league and are bottom of the table, THEN stick a bet on Saints to finish top 10. Will probably get better odds.

Betfair have us 19/1 to beat City. I'm definitely having a bit on that, free money!

So you think we will finish 11 or 12th, so will put money on a top half finish. Eh?

That was before Tommy kept a clean sheet last night.

The bookies tend to be right, hope they are wrong on the relgeation predictions.

Good thing you aren't a bookie with your 17th place prediction last season. You'd be quickly made bankrupt!

The odds is fluctuating wildly innit. First we was 12/13, then we was 13/1 and now we is back to 7/1.

Did anyone get on while it was 13s?

At 4/7, the bookies' prediction is that we will have about a 65% chance of staying up.

    I hope they're right.
