How was your hibernation?
But I dont think he is Prem standard BUT he had a major part in putting us where we are
Good luck to him at NFFC

You're not doing too well with this whole forum thing are you...

Don't worry Miltonroader - there are lots of members who live for the opportunity to be sarcastic and sometimes unpleasant to others members.
I will also miss Dan. He was a good servent and helped us get promoted twice. I still remember his goal last season at Leicester, a real opportunistic goal but a great reward for his attitude to always try to get up the pitch.
Couldn't agree more, played a big part of getting us out of League 1 and was man of the match in the JPT final IMO.
Cheers Dan, all the best at Forest.
The 'best wishes' started on page 2....
Someone had to be i suppose. Dead weight for most of the championship. His ambition to get up the field and play always 100% without fail left us wide open at the back. Never marked his man well. Was scared to make a tackle and had the crossing ability of a blind walrus!
Overrated.
He was part of our progression and for that he should be thanked and a level of respect shown. Unless you're one of those trolls who finds pleasure in berating any modicum of good sentiment!
He done a job in L1, tries hard. However he's constantly out of position and never looks comfortable on that ball. Best of luck to him but I'm glad he won't be playing for us this season. Will do a job at Forest as long as they have a decent LCB and LM to cover for him.
Harding in - Fox OUT
Good luck Dan, you will do well at Forest. Sad to see you leave
Thanks for everything Dan. He always gave his all and played a big part in our back-to-back promotions. Will miss him shouting at the ball-boys to give him the ball quicker to take a throw-in - brilliant! A passionate player and will do well at Forest. Cannot understand those few who rubbish him above.
If someone with more PC nous than me can find the thread when we signed him.... there will be comments on there bearing my name showing I was deliriously happy that we signed him. And I'm saddened that we are letting him go. Very good player. Worked exceptionally well with Lallana. I'm not sure Fox is any better, really I'm not, but Nigel picks the team, and I assume he thinks he is and that he has someone waiting to join us (Olsson, maybe.)
I always liked Dan Harding and obviously, like all right thinking fans, I wish him well for the future. Indeed is he not one of the best free transfers this club has signed in recent years? Time for a embarrassing admission now - try as I might - I still can't see this vast gulf in class that supposedly exists between Harding & Fox in all honesty. However as NA clearly prefers Fox then I'm happy enough to go along with his judgment.
But is even Danny Fox really Premier League standard ?
Remembering just how easily Reading's attack took him apart at St Marys (costing us the Championship title perhaps) the prospect of Fox v the best attacking players in the English game is not one that I look forward to with particular relish. Our obvious interest in signing another Left Back suggests that more important people than this ordinary fan think the much the same.
He's a decent player with plenty to offer. Would have been useful cover. Will do well at Forest. good luck to him.
He was decent in League One, but got found out at Championship level. I always worried whenever he was named on the team sheet. Anyone who rates him ahead of Fox is crazy imo. Fox is a vastly superior player and one which adds a lot more to our attacking play then Harding ever did.
Good luck Dan, but it was the right time to move on.
Oh how things have changed in three short years: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthrea...-two-year-deal
The fact anyone thought Mills would be better than him is funny.
Also nice to see utter cobblers being spouted by Charlie Wayman and Glasgow Saint on that thread, still getting bites two promotions later :

Personally at the stage we were rebuilding he was my favourite player in his first season with us.
To see him go
just read an interesting (and fairly positive) summary of the current Saints situation on " the Bleacher Report "
....included in a very long paragraph about player transfers, it suggested that Dan's move was for a fee of 500K....not bad for a player who came on free transfer 3 years ago .......and a v.good deal for Forest I'd say.
