  1. Default Which Broadband???????

Currently with BT but the price is going up and up. Any recommendations? Needs to be unlimited usage and hopefully decent speed, other than that no idea

BT. Negotiate a better price and keep the best provider. I get phone, broadband 40 kb (or whatever) download limit which is ample, fee evening and weekend calls, line rental, bt vision (the full works including sky sports 1,2 and espn), free latest home hub etc - the full works, and the last monthly bill was 62 quid.

We looked into this. We have BT Broadband and it's absolutely fine but when we enquired about BT vision, we were told we'd need a bloody huge mast on the side of the house to get catch-up and movies on demand. Did you have to have a special mast, Dune?

Dune has a very small mast. I can tell by his posting style.

If you can get Virgin Media on fibre ( lots of places in Southampton have it ), that'd be my recommendation. I have 50Mbs coming into my place in Liverpool. I have a separate 30Mbs line at my mum's place in Southampton. The latter costs me £30 a month. Absolutely no problem streaming / downloading / etc on that.

If your exchange has been unbundled I would go with O2, esp if you have a mobile with them.

Virgin Fibre is good. But the Superhub is a piece of ****.
