usual suspects guly, fox, kd etc. no longer in the team to pick on

I think we should concede some more goals, and stop trying to score as many.

No, hang on, the other way round.

Or is it? I've confused myself now. I'll get back to you

Yep, ultimately it is his fault. The buck stops with him. Unfair... maybe. But that's how it works.

I reckon Adkins is already fixing this problem. He is has fixed it so that instead of playing Arsenals and Man Uniteds and Man Citys we is now going to be playing Fulhams and West Hams and Swanseas.

With regards to your other problem of pinkscarf, I would recommend in future a cool wash, no more than 40 degrees.

The truth is, in our wide, open play philosophy, a holding midfielder is CRUCIAL.

It happened last year and it's happening this year, only we've tactically corrected it but we've now got both players who can do that position out (Cork and Schneiderlin). Our back 4 (and quite often our 2 CBs) are getting ran at far too easily and far too much, and this forces them to either commit or allow the opposition too much time to either shoot or figure out a pass, meaning they'll always be at a loss.

i think it was especially tricky against Everton with both Spiderman and Cork out. But yes, we really do need to stop more opposition attacks from midfield. Could Chaplow do a job getting stuck in here, commiting a few tactical fouls perhaps? in the place of MS and JC? Perhaps Guly could also create more physical opposition in the centre. I feel JWP and Davis were getting pushed around too easily.

    Try the new keeper.

TBF the buck ultimately stops with Adkins, afterall he should do something about underperforming players.....

But lets wait and see what happens, afterall we have played a very possible top 4 in our last 6 games, and bar Wigan not done tooo bad tbh

You can't keep changing the keeper to stop conceeding goals, the route cause is not as clear cut as the GK.

This really and we need our wide players to protect our full backs better, particularly Puncheon has been poor at this. Having watched some other defences I don' think our defenders are that bad, they need to cut down on the errors but I think the team needs to get better as defending as a whole.

No, but neither Davis/Gazza are up to it - Boruc MUST play as soon as he's ready. We need authority behind the Back 4.

I was thinking last night that perhaps it might be worth playing a 'harrying' midfielder such as Chaplow, as Schniederlin, Lallana and to a certain extent Ward-Prowse all lay off the oppo too much, allowing them to play. Such a shame Cork is still out as he might supply a bit of the steel we need in the middle of the park. Oh, and change the captain. Giving it to Lallana sets the style for the rest whereas we need a bit of a Jimmy Case to spur the boys on.

I read just now bout how we is the most goals conceded in the first 6 games since Newcastle in 1999. That's a pretty sweet achievement! They finished 11th that year though, so it ain't all bad!

We got 4 of those as well! Even Mark Hughes scored (one of his two in over 50 games). Gullit got the sack the next week.

but I do think that playing an international keeper with several hundred first team games under his belt is preferable to a youngster who's played half a season in L2 ...and a couple of soft games against lower league opponents .....might have been a better selection when playing away to Everton.
