Just seen this years peace prize has been given to the EU . Has this award now be devalued ? I'm sure the were more deserving candidates .

Well the theory is that as there hasn't been a war between Europe's major powers for nigh on 70 years the EU must be doing a lot for peaceful coexistance in Europe. It's totally riduculous of course but hey we need the money anyway.

Makes perfect sense. The EU has kept peace in Europe for a long while after a time at which there was constant war. It isn't the Nobel Prize for Economics, so I don't see the controversy.
