Thread: Builder recommendation

  1. Default Builder recommendation

    Hi,

Does anyone have a builder they can recommend please? Need someone to knock down and make good an internal (supporting) wall.

    Lordwood area.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

M J Adams, in the FMB, & is local (Bassett). Did some work for me a few years ago, was quick, efficient & a good price.

Btw, have you sought Building Regs approval, or are you wanting the builder to use a Bulding Notice, either way, it would be wise to get a Structural Engineer to take a look before letting a builder loose with a sledge hammer, I believe to have Tim's details.

Ultimately, it's your responsibility, of course you can ask the builder to organise it, but don't just assume they have/will do. It's your property after all. Also I assume whatever this wall is supporting, will still need supporting after it's gone, this would more than likely need a steel, which will need designing. No matter what a builder will tell you, it' not just a case of looking at it and saying "It just needs a bit of 8x4 rsj mate".
