Other Team's Transfers

On the "Transfer Rumours" thread someone has just mentioned the signings made by other teams around us last year in the league and it got me wondering who other people had signed as I have largely not cared about other teams signings. But, as the season gets closer and things like new kits are being announced, and of course - our first summer signing - I am now getting very excited again!

Having looked at the incoming transfers of other clubs, Tadíc would (and does) excite me a lot more than some of the other players that teams in the league have signed. If we can sign a couple more players of a similar quality, then we will have surely had a successful (at least on the incomings front) transfer window.

Thought I'd compile a list on here of the signings made by the other teams in the league, and if I can be bothered - will update it as and when.

I agree on this, Zarate and Kouyate are both good players, will be interesting to see how they are going to fit into their team!

With Carroll fit, Morrison perhaps backand a few more to come they may well have a strong squad, even if a poor Manager. Should push for top 10.

Hull also strengthening, even if in a slightly dull way.

Are West Ham the new Norwich? ;-) I actually think Hull are going about their business well. Snodgrass was one of Norwich's only decent players last season, although perhaps they've overpaid.

Seeing how much Tadic cost, compared to say Snodgrass and McCormack today, makes me wonder why anyone shops in this country anymore. Lallana was overpriced too IMO.

Even at this very early stage in the window, this is a very good indication of how the closed-shop nature of the top few clubs in the Premier League is only going to get worse. Man City have yet to get properly in gear too.

We can break into the top 4 with a good academy and a bit of ambition.

Perhaps they'll sign David Luiz...

Hull, swansea and west ham all have started well, its early on in the window though. Villas policy is utterly terrible

Terrible signings, lambert will be sacked with roy Keane taking over if they don't start well. Unrest behind the scenes and in the boardroom. And some of the doom merchants on here think we'll be lucky to stay up

Colback and Lescott on frees look good deals but can't say anyone else stands out as someone we've missed out on really

Exactly look at the quality of the players these teams are bringing in and the money these teams are spending (not to mention huge wages no doubt) there really is no way saints can compete with that. Having said that a lot of the other teams seem to be going for frees and dodgy signings (I'm sure there will be some money signings before the window closes though) a few more decent signings from saints and I reckon we can be in around 8th again next season the money we've made from player sales if invested well along with the players left should still be a strong team in the PL I reckon.

Even then Colback is apparently on £50k+ a week and I wouldn't want to go near him if that is true.

Out of interest, when looking at transfer fees how does a site like this - http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-southampton/transfers/verein/180/saison_id/2014 - get them? I did read the article someone posted up about "undisclosed" transfer fees.

I think its a load of made up tripe. I think they randomly assign a value to the player more than anything else.

Here's one for you, Beckenham Saint:

Mario Pasalic joins the greatest youth player development vacuum that is Chelsea.

http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/07/pasalic-signs.html?WT.mc_id=social_20140709_27514536

Cheers. Never understood why young players would even consider signing for them, every young player they have signed or developed (McEachran was always highly rated by their fans that actually know anything) seem to fade. Chelsea FC seems to me like a graveyard for the young!

They are about to sign Athletico's left back Fillipe Luiz in compliance with Chelsea's "One in one out" policy on players called Luiz!

Lloris has signed a new five year deal with Tottenham. I must say I'm very impressed, he must believe strongly in Pochettino.

Ponch pointed out to him that letting your contract run down while making vague commitments about sorting it out down the line is disingenuous and disrespectful to the club.

How about this for a reason? https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/pitchside/chelsea-paying-little-known-youth-player-20-000-082850946.html

That will likely be before tax and any other fee's (someone in the office the other day was telling me the various places that a players 'wage' goes before they see any of it but I couldn't focus on what he was saying because he was wearing sandals and baggy green linen trousers at the time, and I don't know how much I can trust a man who chooses to dress as such) so while the figure looks high, he won't actually be getting £20,000 a week, apparently.

Do we know roughly how much our players of similar age and experience are on?

Seen that lorris story , 5 year contract extension

Where have I seen that before . He will ask for a transfer at the end of the season

And will tell pooch he has been day dreaming about Southampton for several months now

Mind you he will have a longer contract than pooch

Paul Lambert's transfer policy is noted for its exquisite quality, that captivates the Villa fans.

Joe Cole, Phillipe Senderos AND Kieran Richardson! Why Mr Lambert with these signings you are really spoiling us.

MLG, are there going to be any half decent freebies left on the new FM game then now?! they all seem the type of signing i'd make straight away!
