New road bike - recommendations?

Don't know if you're still looking but discs are a really good idea on a commuter bike. Also consider adding cross top auxiliary brake levers as can be tricky grabbing road bike brakes quickly. Flat bar road bikes (lightweight solid fork hybrid) also worth a look.

Whyte Dorset look good, definitely on my list. I also like the look of the Charge Plug range. If you want to go for steel then take a look at Genesis. Love the traditional look and build of their Croix de Fer and Equilibrium and Day One bikes

But as others have said, great value on the Boardman and Btwin bikes (Decathlon exclusive) - I've got a Triban 3 I inherited from my brother as my commuter bike

I'll be having one of these next year but built by my LBS with Campag Athena or Chorus and Fulcrum Zero hoops.

Looks nice. This is my next year purchase. http://www.cervelo.com/media/images/R3-560x400-2fb8f1e1-2865-4c3a-926d-1fb1a7e23d28-0-560x400.jpg

Would love to spec it with Campag but will rough it with Ultegra. Want Shamals though, although Fulcrum Racing Zeros are equivalent and part of same company.
