.....and Anders goes on...and on..and on

Recommended Posts

if you don't count his disappointing time (his words) at Saints, Anders Svensson has almost been a one-club man - in Sweden at least.

Elfsborg is his "spiritual home" (my words - not his), and still fit enough to lace up his boots and train hard, Anders has agreed yet another year with the club.

Next July Anders will be 39, but he is still the driving force behind the side - who have been desperate to find his successor in the last few years.

In a Swedish football scene sadly devoid of " star names " he will be sorely missed when he does eventually retire.

Really? How come?

Zlatan didn't like the fact that Anders had a few ideas about the national team and how they should play. He would use the press to put over his point. Zlatan replied as Zlatan replies. No one messes with big nose.

Two leaders...both want to be chief d1ck.

Now Anders is used as a tv commentator when the national team plays. If he sats anything negative, then Zlatan is Quick to put him right. Quite funny actually.

Toys, pram, crying....Both used to geting their own way.

when Zlatan plays well (not always) ...and scores .......Sweden usually win. When he doesn't ... he's practically invisible and the Swedes are poorer than ever.

Like MLT..when Zlatan has the ball at his feet, he's world class and scores "worldies " but Anders had a high degree of tactical nous ... that isn't apparant now that Zlatan has the captain's armband.

Zlatan does have a rather high opinion of himself: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30589052

oh tell me about it, Minty. The media tried to diss him years ago because of his attitude, but he single-handedly won many international games for Sweden on his own.

He's the stand out player at PSG, in what is a " not very exciting " French league, where he plays like CR..... but against big international opposition ....he often goes AWOL.

Quite dissapointed Anders didn't make that list actually.

The Swedish media was trying to diss him from the national side after the 2006 World Cup, only trouble was that successive team managers failed to find anyone to successfully replace him.

Now that he joined the TV squad, he can get his own back....but .what few of them are willing to admit is - he's right.
