Not just you, I asked yesterday why the site was meltdown slow, didn't get a reply though. Just presumed it's because there are loads of freebooters F5 ing all of the time concerning the manager.

I had that problem a few weeks ago, whenever I viewed the site on my ipad. It became virtually unusable for a while, but then recently the 'prize' ads stopped ... nothing I'd done.

At present it is just slow for me on my laptop, whilst the 'slow running script' runs, and weirdly is much quicker on my phone or ipad.

I haven't noticed it being any worse than usual, but I don't bother with the tapatalk thing on my phone. I've seen posters on other sites mention problems with that.

Still not good for me (nearly three weeks later) and just now when changing pages on here I got a pop up with "wait! are you sure you want to leave this page? Try my software etc" which is obviously dodgy. So....clearly the site is riddled with something - is anyone trying to do anything about it do we know?

I was having problems scrolling as flashdrive was crashing. My IT Technical Assistant, aka grandson, put a good ad blocker on and voila!

I have also had problems with the site and keep getting sent to random sites, of which one was as a very explicit advert for a porn site. My concern here is that it could happen to any child that may visit this site. I may have to stop using it as it is very slow sometimes and Adobe Flash keeps crashing (less now I have upgraded Chrome).

I'm glad that you have written this Gaucho, as I had the same adverts appear on Monday evening, and I too feared for my grandson, who occasionally uses my computer, seeing this filth. It hasn't reappeared since though.

I've been on the site since day 1 and a half and apart from the rough patch when the servers couldn't handle the load on match days I don't ever remember any great problem. Once upon a time virtually all regular contributors paid their 5 quid but now that seems to have been largely abandoned in favour of freebooting. So if you're a second class poster it's kind of normal that you get second class service on occasions isn't it!!

As per usual, I've sent the annual curry payment to steve grant. And as per f*cking usual he hasn't spotted it, and obviously I can't pmail him to point it out. Can someone pm him for me?

I think everybody has the possibility to contact the Admin independently of the PM system.

Don't see the problem really, it's a free world, each user can choose to use one site or another. If one doesn't work well use that that does.

The cost of membership of this particular site is £5, it always has been so if you don't want to pay, fine then don't but quit complaining if you don't get the same service as those that do.

Its the adverts that contain the links to porno sites and so on. The adverts generate income (from GoogleAds) and the income is surprisingly high (I know because I run web sites with GoogleAds), probably significantly more than is generated by the £5 annual fee. Thing is the ads can be configured, so that only certain categories of ads are displayed, you can filter out crap like dating sites, definitely porno and so on. Steve needs to do some admin configuration work and then this problem ought to be resolved. Its particularly bad if you are using your smartphone where it is easier to fat finger and click on ads by mistake. This really needs sorting, I've stopped accessing the site from my smartphone because it seems easy to get infected messages. I could of course pay my £5 again but while certain users remain on here and continue their abusive posting I refuse to do so. But soon the site will lose more and more of its income because it is not being managed properly.

So in fact whilst the "abusive posters" (not that I'd recognise who that may be) are here and users don't pay because of that, the site makes more money out of them.

If you use Chrome as your web browser, you can download an extension call "AdBlock". Never see adverts again!

2 days ago I was getting redirects to other (questionable) sites. It was driving me crazy. Then I started to get an ad in a small frame on the page playing a video with loud audio. Unfortunately the frame was smaller than the actual ad so there was no way to stop it.

In the end I disabled flash for the site and all is ok(ish).

Yes, doesn't Google Ads check your cookies to see what other sites you have been to and then target the ads accordingly? I wonder if some people on here are revealing more than they realise about their browsing habits!
