Why Southampton are so good at talent spotting

"The 21-year-old Danish midfielder was signed from Bayern Munich in the summer and was influential after replacing the injured James Ward-Prowse at Anfield. Also impressive on Wednesday were other notable recruits of recent years, Dusan Tadic and Oriol Romeu."

The overall message of the article might be fine, but this sentence makes me wonder if he actually saw the game. Hojbjerg was average when he came on and Tadic was pretty atrocious. Strange when he could have picked out any number of others!

Drodba once.

Read he was sat in the office ready to sign but we did not push on with it. Ha ha got to laugh.

Wasn't that down to His Rupertship who thought we don't need him as we've got James Beattie or someone else at the time..?

As above, very interesting that we were tracking Romeu for so long. Wonder who else we've had our eyes on...I know Coutinho was one.

We were at a pre season friendly at Sholing when Poch was the Manager and overheard that the Coutinho deal was all but signed until Liverpool came in at the last minute and topped our deal.

Perhaps this signing should be added to the overall Saints connection?
