Slow internet.

Is there anyway to speed up how quick pages load up on the internet,when i come on here everything is fine but when i go on sites like facebook seems to take an age to load each page.

Also anyway of checking the spead my broadband is running at as i'm sure it's not running at the speed it should.

we've got an 8mb connection at work and the download speeds are prolific. Opening up facebook is really, really slow though. It's since they did their latest pointless appearance change.

I'd also recommend downloading and running superantispyware which is a free spyware detection program. It also detects other gremlins that may slow your internet down http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

To be fair it makes no difference whatsoever what your download speed is, as it will only run as fast as the site / server you are connected / connecting to will allow data to leave it.

I find Opera quite slow, Chrome is much faster, although some might suggest Opera was more secure.

Have just done the speed test and my connection speed is way down on what i should be receiving,now is there anything i can check or is it just down to my service provider being junk.

For what it's worth i am with Orange and have now found lots of complaints about the speed of connection and the level of drop out that ocours.

Try it at different times of the day before complaining to them, I'm sure if it hits the advertised speed at off peak times - middle of the night - they will claim they aren't falsely advertising...
