Fisichella to Ferrari

Good appointment IMO. Always liked Fisi and I think he has outperformed most of his teammates over the years, bar Nando. Being Italian wont do him much harm with the fans either.

I think that may have been a bad move, I would have put money on him being highly competitive in the Force India at Monza. Can't blame a man for following his heart though.

Excellent move by both parties. Any idea what they will do if Massa is fit before the end of the season?

I believe he'll sit out the season now, Pancake. There's very little chance he'll recover 100% by November anyway.

Fisi's made a bold move there, IMO. The Force India finally looks competitive and seems to suit his style; he's finally looking like a competent driver after being outshone for the last 4 years (even by Heikki at Renault) and he stood a 50/50 chance of retaining the drive for next year. I'd imagine Ferrari are paying him far more than FI did though (£180k for the year) so he'll probably make more in the next 5 races than 2009/2010 combined at FI.

Still, it looks like he's setting himself up to fail a little. He will probably get spanked by Raikkonen and once again be the obvious 2nd rate driver in the team.

Think that is a tad harsh on Fisi.

1997 - Outperformed Ralf at Jordan

1998 - 2001 - Outperformed Wurz and Button at Benneton

2002 - 2003 - Managed to win a race in the hugely uncompetitive Jordan.

2004 - Outperformed Massa at Sauber

2005 - 2007 - Okay Fernando well and truly had his number, but he is one of, if not the, most tallented driver on the grid. Heikki outperformed him in '07 but not by all that much.

2008 - present - Hasn't exactly been outperformed by Sutil and 2nd is by far the best result in the teams history. And it was on a dry track with a low attrition rate with genuinely competitive pace.

I did only say "the last four years" tbf (to me).

Okay, although I would disagree that he was outshone by Heikki or Sutil.
