Just released.

For me, the most significant 'news' is merely confirmation that Saudi Arabia remains the largest source of funds for al Qaeda, and that Qatar, another Western ally, is 'the worst in the region' for failing to act against known al Qaeda operatives in their borders out of fear of 'reprisals' from AQ and their sympathisers.

The Arab peninsula remains the most significant source of global insecurity (which is to say, mass murder and maiming, particularly in countries like Pakistan, Yemen and Afghanistan) - something which all those who profit from their association with Dubai and other Wahhabi hangouts would do well to remember.

Interesting but irrelevant fact.

I have met the proprietor of wikileaks Julian Assange. He came across as a deranged crackpot. A bit like a Bond villain.

I guess you'd have to be. Anyone rational and sane would think - should i put this interesting but not of vital public importance information into the public domain and bring a whirlwind of crap down on my head for no money, or should i carry on with my nice life being happy.

The most worrying aspects of this are (1) that something we should probably expect to be 'secret' is on a system visible to more than 2 and half million people, including junior soldiers and filing clerks, and (2) how easy it was to download all this stuff onto a USB and walk out of the office with it.

Do the CIA, FBI, and Department of Defense, ( they can't even spell correctly ), have any idea of how to secure data held on computers ?
