Do like him or dislike him?.

For me he goes way way over the top. On Mock the Week he is very quick but far too acidic and bitter.

And his new program on channel 4, well I'm amazed they are letting it run. This blokes shows all the attributes of a sex starved serial killer and this program breaks all normal boundaries.

What do you think?

He was excellent on mock the week, very quick and was a key part of the show.

Nowadays he's changed his act where he deliberately tries to be crude for the sake of it and it is just cringeworthy, the more crude he tries to be the less funny he is. His act used to be a 'grumpy Scotsman billy connolly' routine with an edge to it, but now he is just completely vulgar under the premise of "we should be allowed to laugh at absolutely anything" and it's useless. Unless he changes it, he'll be off the TV within a couple of years.

He's also the most talentless and worst stand up I've ever seen, by a long way.

I saw him at some show where he was supposed to do a 30-40 minute set. After churning out some recycled mock the week lines that didn't get many laughs, he then started picking on the front row and when that didn't get many laughs he buggered off the stage after about 15 minutes. It took about 10 mins before the crowd realised it wasn't some big wind up to a gag and that he actually had just walked off.

Even a racist bigot like Manning had talent in his delivery and timing. Boyle was absolutely useless, there quite a few cries of "get some new material"

He was excellent on Mock the Week but the new show is not as funny. The stand up is OK but the sketches are crap. I think his comedy works well on Mock the Week because it is broken up with more light hearted humour from the other comedians, when it is just Boyle it gets a bit much.

I wish people would stop moaning about him though, if you don't like his humour **** off and watch something else.

This! You're not forced to watch, simply turn over. Having said that, the C4 programme is ****ing terrible

Don't be a chump with that old cliche, you have to watch some of it to realise how bad it is!, believe me it didn't take me long to realise how sick it was and then to turn it off.

FFS!

I think Boyle is naturally a very funny man.

His problem seems to be he doesn't have the commitment or the effort to keep on writing good material. When he can be arsed to write anything new all he's done is churned out some lazy vulgarity under a premise to shock.

He's already publicly stated he's quitting stand up within the next 18 months, I'm guessing he'll go to co-producing more on the TV and do the minimum to earn a decent living

If we followed your logic, we could have pornos on C4 every night, there are other channels to watch.

Yes, what's your point? Channel 4 would then be known as the porno channel and those not interested in porn, both of you, can avoid it like a DVDA.

The point is that a line has to be drawn somewhere. Society is sick enough as it is without loose cannons like Boyle being aloud to upset people with disabilities, different race, soldiers dying in Afghanistan etc etc.

His C4 show is sick, and yes, I will not watch anything with him in it again.

Don't watch it then, it's not a problem.

If anyone thinks what Boyle said about Afganistan makes him racist then they are thick. He was using strong language to highlight racism, there's a big difference.

The show wasn't that funny but all this hysteria is nonsense. You can bet your life more people are going to watch the next show when all the saddos tune in just so they can get outraged at how offended they are - stupid ****s.

I saw him live..and it was very good..

you know what you are going to get...harsh micky taking...more so if you are sat at the front..

people must like it as he is very popular

russell howard and lee nelson are the worst...talking about spunk and doing birds up the gary...

not remotely funny..

I don't find jokes about disabled people funny as a rule, but i also believe that no 'group' of people are above humour or mickey-taking.

I think Frankie Boyle should be judged on the quality of his humour. That's what he should live or die by. I have never seen his channel 4 show but he was funny on Mock The Week, which as a rule wasn't a particularly hilarious programme.

Mock The Week is just a low-brow version of Have I Got News For You, which is very funy and features intelligent humour, which I know is lost of a lot of people. So Mock The Week was topical news for more stupid people and Frankie Boyle slotted in quite nicely, IMHO.

I alwasy assumed that Frankie Boyle was being ironic when he made crass jokes on Mock The Week, and I still do. I mean, if he believed everything he said he wouldn't be on telly, he wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes before isulting a television executive and getting the boot. He does it because that is his stage persona.

It does make me laugh whent he Daily Mail try and be 'moral crusaders'. Is there anything more consistently offensive than the Daily Mail?
