At least they may feel like they support a phoenix with a motto of "football first" rather than a plc with the motto"business and shareholders first"???

if we're top of the league come christmas, it wouldn't matter if we're a PLC or not... we'll all be talking about the football

There is a train of thought that if we lose you can say ah well I was expecting that and if we win its a pleasant surprise. Saints have given us much to be miserable over the last 4 years so is it a surprise when the odd bit of gallows humour surfaces.

Even in the dark days of the 90s we had Le Tiss and in the dark days of the 50s we had Elvis (Paine that is not Presley).

Football is business for Bournemouth as well. Unless you're an amateur club that doesn't really care about the results you're a business first since the football on the pitch is highly dependant on what happens in the business side. I'm sure Saints fans will be happy enough if we preform better with our current team then we did last year. After all it would help out club become financially stable again and most of our player will be from out own academy which counts for something as well.

Yeah there's been a shift in power. It's better than all the arguments that this forum was generating over the past 2 years. God they were getting tedious. Let's just enjoy it before the moaners get back from holiday!

Twelve months on from the promotion-pushing Saintsforum and its summer of takeover madness, Saintsweb seems to have lost much of that mojo. Re-signing over-age players hasn’t solved the problem. Alpine saint has not recovered from his cruciate spelling injury, and delldays is pulling out of too many tackles. Sundance can’t decide on a personality, and the virtual Richard Chorley is rumoured no longer to exist. Our own-goal specialists tommac, St D and LLS have been banished to the industrial estates whence they came, and their replacement, Tiger, is nowhere near annoying enough.

Result of our over-reliance on youth: threads on the main board play on far past the full 90 mins and life is more optimistic although no more polite necessarily. It's just a little bit dull.

Being honest, I think you'll struggle to find a happy Bournemouth fan.

So who else is going to run the club then?

Top post. The PLC needs to cease to exist for Saints to rise again.

Every saints fan I know if feeling more positive than in a long time. We're slowly beginning to actually deal with our problems and move forward, what's bad about that? Our options are carry on ignoring everything and hope it magically fixes itself, or take action and produce a team that'll give their all each week.

 

For the first time in a couple of years I think we'll come away from most games thinking we've seen a saints team give everything and play as well as they can. Who knows what the result will be, but the attitude and determination around the place is a hell of a lot easier to support. Anyone who really struggled with the apathetic burley times will surely know what I'm talking about. Last season under Burley was the only time in my lifetime supporting saints that I really found it hard to care win, lose or draw, and that wasn't because of the league or the quality.

I watched at least 25 games of the most unimagineable dross it's been my misfortune to witness last season. I really don't give a jot for last years team.

I have seen enough of the present team to know that they will do a lot better and be a pleasure to watch, compared with last season's rabble.
