Will be staying in central london for a few days next week, was just wondering if anyone is clued up re tube travel, is an oyster card the same as a one day travel card you used to be able to get? will be mainly in zone 1 and 2 but will be going to wembley central too, will it be cheaper paying for that journey seperate or getting a card covering the zone wembley is in ?

Cheers

get an oyster card, stick a tenner on it, top it up and use it every time you are in London - cheaper fares and saves a lot of messing about deciding what zones you have to cross.

Just spent a couple of days in Camden/Hackney area - it was nice to come home!

Oyster is basically a Pay-As-You-Go, and works out cheaper than buying individual tickets. The single travel rate for a journey on Oyster is already discounted, and it charges you the cheapest rate for your journeys over the course of a day (ie it will automatically switch you from singles to a travelcard if it would work out cheaper, based on the journeys you make).
