Reading this article it made me smile a bit but it also rather reconfirmed to me that people are being falsely

accused of attempting to smuggle when they are innocent. The reason I say that is :-

"She said the fact that the note was left on the TSA notice led her to believe a TSA officer had written it".

"A spokesperson for the TSA said that they are 'one of several entities' that handle checked bags and that

at this time there is 'no concrete evidence who wrote the note'."

There we go then it is being finally admitted that several, not just the passenger accused of smuggling,

different people can open and put stuff in without your knowledge. In this case it was just a piece of

paper but it could have been drugs.

Oh yes and as a cause for further concern have you seen this as well?

Happy travels.

I guess this bit:

"Prompted to defend herself after an offensive comment on her blog - which included a threat of sodomy..."

probably means she said something about sticking the vibrator up the note writer's ar5e.

:)

And, on a more serious note, I ALWAYS put a lock on my cases. The ONLY time I ever been told to remove it was when flying back to the UK from....... the USA.

Moral of the story being, don't fly from the USA to somewhere like Thailand if you are worried that someone else might put drugs in your bag (for example).

Worked in aviation security for a few years and surprised how people assumed that a zip on a suitcase was more secure than any other zip. I've known people who've lost case keys be in tears worrying that they'll have to complete their holiday wearing the clothes they'd arrived in, then they gasp as you prise the zip open with a biro.

They don't call it Thief Row for nothing.

You could have had the REAL Crown Jewels in my shreddies the amount of times random strangers have tampered my the zip on my trousers / jeans TBH.

I think you're getting the wrong end of the stick. The point being made was that several agencies including the TSA can *legitimately* open your baggage in-transit. Not that several people can *illegitimately* do so.
