fitting a tap

anyone know how to fit a tap? one of ours is knackered, and it looks a bit complicated to me. not even sure how to get the old set off.

its easy enough to buy a new tap set, but could really do without paying a plumber to come out and fit it

Pretty straight forward if you can turn the water off and you have a tap spanner. Have a look on YouTube, pretty sure there are some videos on there.

One word of advice: don't faucet

It's easy enough, best way for a DIYer is probably:

Isolate the water supply and cut the hot & cold pipes with a 15mm pipe cutter.

Then disconnect the taps from the sink.

Get a couple of push fit flexi tap tales.

Attach the new taps to the sink with the tap tales connected.

Wire wool around the edges of the old copper pipe

Place the pushfit fittings over the old pipes

turn the water supply back on and you should be fine!

Slightly harder if you've bought a monobloc tap...

It's not actually that hard, most taps will come with some sort of instructions its just a case of taking your time and making sure you don't cut away too much of the old copper pipes etc.
