If you have a morning it is generally a very easy thing to do yourself, if you have a decent quality laminate and jig saw.

Its cutting around rad pipes etcthats a pain in the ass

It's 40 square meters and I am going nowhere near it...... Any chippys out there..........

The problem with laminate flooring is that the base needs to be level - especially if the floor is concrete. You have to use a self levelling compound. If the floor is not level then you will be forever peeved when certain boards 'creak' under weight. So, if you are going to use a tradesman, then ask him what he proposes to do to make the floor level. A timber floor is much easier and less of a problem. Cutting and fitting the boards is easy, but make sure you use a good underlay/softener specifically made for the purpose.
