There's so much politicking and corruption in African football that the above story is actually a regular one involving various African teams before World Cups and Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, and there'll be more to it than meets the eye. The amount of matches I've seen in the AFCON over the years that have been blatantly rigged and have descended into complete farce. The tournament's worth watching purely for entertainment value. A lot is wrong with stratospheric wages paid to PL players - but a PL club paying employees less than the minimum wage just brings it into focus. Personally I couldnt run a business that pandered to every whim of one group earning c£50,000pw whilst making a minimum wage group pay for their uniforms. "HMRC said this week that more than £4.6m had been paid out to 22,000 people, including staff at a Premier League club, who had been paid less than the minimum wage.
