• Tadanari 'Chung' Lee departs

Our first move this transfer window is one through the exit door as Japanese international Tadanari 'Chung' Lee has his contract cancelled by the club.

Tadanari Lee arrived from Sanfrecce Hiroshima exactly two years ago while we were chasing promotion from the Championship, he came to St Mary's with a very bright reputation after scoring the winner for Japan against Australia in the 2011 Asia Cup final.

His trademark 'archer' goal celebration was sadly seen only once at St Mary's in league action

His initial bright impact with a wonder goal against Derby County in a 4-0 rout and a deft lay-off to Rickie Lambert that enabled him to score our only goal at a crucial tie at Elland Road soon gave way to injury, on his return he couldn't force his way into the first eleven resulting in only a few league cup appearances.

SaintsWeb would like to wish Chung all the best for his future career, he will hopefully find himself employment in the J-League ahead of the new Japanese club campaign beginning at the end of February.
