STORY OF THE GAME:
Sadio Mané's early shock applied the jump leads to Liverpool, as Jürgen Klopp's side steamrollered Southampton at St. Mary's.
Mané put Saints in front inside 30 seconds, heading in from a cross provided by Dušan Tadić.
Daniel Sturridge fired back for the visitors with two goals in four minutes, capitalising on poor defending and goalkeeping from Steven Caulker and Maarten Stekelenburg respectively.
Divock Origi then diverted a strike from Alberto Moreno into the net, after the Spaniard rifled in a low effort after Saints failed to adequately clear a corner from Adam Lallana.
Origi doubled his tally after thumping a powerful effort past Stekelenburg, before substitute Jordon Ibe put another past Stekelenburg to give Liverpool a 5-1 lead.
The Reds weren't finished there, though, and grabbed a sixth goal when Origi glanced a header into the Saints net with just four minutes of regulation time remaining.
