  1. Really excited by this signing. Brilliant stuff Wilcox.
  2. ABK probably should be playing in a top league even a top team, so I can't blame him for wanting to leave especially with the Euros next summer and in Germany. But we must get the right value. If that ends up being a big loan fee and big obligation to buy price then sobeit. Sulemana has done nothing to demand a move so putting in a request for a transfer (if in fact true) is unwarranted other than self interest and probably ego. I would hope though that once the opportunity to move disappears after Friday then maybe he can get his head back in the club without distraction because I do think he could be an asset for us. But I do not think we should just let him go because he's unhappy playing the Championship. Pathetic attitude.
  3. Always fun in transfer season!! Might get to one or two but very busy!! Went down for the Norwich game.
  4. Tanswell maybe true BUT I think he's just one of these journos that writes a story that fits a narrative and sounds plausible even if he has no clue. Spending money has not be a problem at any point by SR and they won't scrimp now. But if you can save money with loans why not!! Judge on Sept 2nd.
  5. Shocker! 20/21 year old player not outstanding in a bad team and a bit inconsistent!!
  6. So much synisism on here and amongst our fanbase, and very understandable given the last few years. But, in Wilcox and Martin and other new senior figures we seem to have a fresh attitude, ambition and determination. As close to the window closing as we are, and the inevitable nervousness that begins to set in, as always many deals that involve players who have more than one suitor, will take longer to resolve. I may well be proved wrong, but I do think we will see 2 or 3 new players - including a striker! - before next weekend.

    Che Adams?

It may not be a gamble Adams wants to take either. He's clearly not decided on staying here, or maybe we havnt offered him a new contract, so I'd be very surprised if he stays. RM saying the right things about wanting him to stay but that's only (I'm guessing) so that in the case he doesn't find a move RM has CA on side! I think there will be one or two better players coming in tbe door up front...
  8. I like Adams but I think getting 15m for him is ok. If we go up, a) will he sign on again and b) will he be better "next time"? I dont think it's worth the gamble overall. Its a good time to (hopefully) get two new strikers in. I like the look of Cameron Archer, young fast and teo footed. Another like maybe Piroe with some experience in this league might be a tasty combination.
  9. In theory it's not different to when we were pillaged for pur best players. Most teams are essentially an average of the individual abilities. So, and I have no idea actually, perhaps Grimes and Pirloe are far better than mid-table (but the collective Swansea team werent). And judging the manager purely on the quality of player available to him is unfair. Perhaps, he overactive with the players he had?? What I've seen and heard so far excited me. But we need to see how tbe team/squad settles and give him 2 or 3 months and we will have a much better idea.
  10. 1. We don't know the deal yet. 2. There might be other arrangements within the deal, eg Downes for a set price and Ings or something. 3. He's been here 20 years. I'm ok with him trying his luck back in tbe PL as the club fucked up the team and management around him last season.
