  1. Painful indigestion followed by a really long fart that leaves you feeling immediately relieved.
  2. For the last few seasons, there’s been a lad near to me in the Kingsland who gets incredibly irate at the ref. Standing and screaming, “Lino! Lino!” at every single decision. Foaming at the mouth, spit flying. His old man telling him to sit down as he was embarrassing them. I thought he was annoying. It’s only been two home games and I miss him. I didn’t know how much I needed to hear that this ref was a joke until he was gone.

  4. A hyperbolic media is definitely one of the most frustrating aspects of modern culture. Personally, I can forgive them this time. It wasn’t just the result, but that they’d thrashed the second ranked team in the world, in a home tournament, to play a major final at Wembley, in front of crowds they’d only dreamed of before.
  5. I still remember the pm from Master Bates back on saintsforever asking if I wanted some bewbs. Halcyon days.
  6. This post was edited an hour after it was first made and it’s still fucking gibberish.
  7. Very sad. I was in college when the first few singles and album came out and they became one of the first bands I really got invested in - it was so exciting to have a local band make it. Later, Colin from Delays joined my friends band Dead Rabbits and I hung out with Greg a few times. Always a charming, articulate guy. Such an incredible and unique voice in pop too. Valentine deserved to be massive. RIP Greg.
  8. I’m unsure if you’re still arguing with aintforever here or me, but I agree with you - as I have said. It has many meanings And has changed quickly for such a modern word. It’s interesting to plot its use from its African American origins, using Get Out as a guide. I’m unsure if you’ve seen it so I’ll briefly go through it. There it meant the African American lead character staying alert to racism against him, which turned out to be from people who we might now describe as performative and virtue signalling about how much they love black people. Now, we might describe these people as “woke”. In the context of the film, and when it was made, the lead African-American character is ‘woke.’
  9. You could, yes. Which only backs up what I said in the post about the malleability of words - and the speed in which “woke” has been co-opted/changed etc. Notice that in the post I also say yours is a viable definition.
  10. What aintforever posted is the dictionary definition. I’ve no doubt what you’ve posted is a viable definition too. Interesting to see a modern word change meaning so quickly. I first became aware of it in Childish Gambino’s “Awaken My Love” album, then later that year it was used in Jordan Peele’s “Get Out,” which is a very racially charged and angry film, that reflects the African American origins of the word.
  11. Both Turkish and MLG are very clearly on the spectrum. I don’t think it’s fair that the mods keep highlighting it by making threads drawing attention to them.
