  1. Yes he has. Anyway waiting for flight to phuket for lads World Cup weekend away!
  2. ITK from a very reliable source! Unfortunately not allowed to say anything more
  3. Saints new manager is going to be announced next Tuesday so everyone can chill out over the next few days and enjoy the World Cup. I've also vote for A N Other in the poll!
  4. Got them made up myself via a friend of mine, was well happy the 3 of us could leave the hospital in the appropriate Saints attire thanks for all your message, we are having an amazing time but it's bloody hard work!
  5. Go ahead mate, I've got no problem you posting up
  6. I would like to introduce my twin boys and the newest Saints fan, Well in Singapore anyway! Jayden and James were born last Thursday 24th April and we are now all back home. They even got to watch their first Saints games vs Everton while in hospital!
  7. i commend you for your usual level of posting being able to ruin a serious thread concerning birth of my twins within 4 posts. I thank you for your contribution but please, it's not funny one bit.
  8. Stripes? Saints badge? i can get this knocked up for half the cost here but.....
  9. Living in Singapore for many years I can't have many complaints being a Saints fan. I get to see every game live and owning a bar here with many locally based fans! However, my twin Saints boys are due to be born in 3 weeks time and I really wanted them to leave the hospital in the appropriate Saints romper attire. Tried Saintsfc online, nothing, my old man drove all way down to St Mary's but nothing. What I've heard is because changing supplier next season nothing been bought in for months! Gutted, but trying to get something made up locally but not the same. After an amazing season being a Saints fan it's a bit harsh this being my only gripe! looking forward to bringing my twin boys to their first game when I'm back! Rant over
  10. I've lived in Singapore for many years so can give you an insight. Singapore can be expensive in terms of day to day expenses in particular, housing rental, schooling if you have kids, owning a car, health expenses etc. However if you can get part of these included within your package you will be fine. Income Tax is so much lower here compared to UK, in the region of 85% less here for the same salary which is very attractive. Without knowing what kind of package you've been offered it's very hard to say whether it's good or not. If you want to know any specific costings let me know or you can email me on my user name @yahoo.co.uk
  11. I've always used local money changers here when travelling abroad including UK. There are a few at each terminal at Changi either airside or in the arrival halls. These are linked to banks. I always use independant licenced money changers which you'll at all shopping centres. As mentioned, using ATMs is also a perfectly good way of getting Singapore Dollars. Just make sure you have some cash for the taxi fare from the airport
  12. Having lived in Singapore for near on 13 years now so can give some insight on getting around. Looking at the suggestions you've made for getting from A to B, not even the locals would take those options let alone the long time expats like me. Changi Airport to Goodwood Park Hotel. After a minimum 13hr flight I would suggest the last thing you would want to do is take the MRT to City Hall, lug your luggage to get a catch another train to get to Orchard Road MRT. That's the easy bit. You've then got about a 1km walk up Scotts road to get to Goodwood Park Hotel. Not that far but remember it's very hot and humid here all year round and currently we are in the rainy season. Taking a taxi from the Airport to the Hotel is so easy and stress free and should cost you between $20-$30 depending on what day/time you are arriving and will take you 30min at the most. The Public transport route will take you well over an hour. Goodwood Hotel to Night Safari - Again I wouldn't recommend the public transport route but rather the SAEx transport package (See link below) They have a pickup point on Scotts Road no more than 200m from your hotel on the opposite side of the road outside of Royal Plaza On Scotts Hotel. http://www.saex.com.sg/ViewPackages.aspx?PackageID=2 Getting to Sentosa - Yes take public transport, MRT from Orchard Road to Harbour Front via Dhoby Ghout and then you can either walk across from Vivo City on the travelator or the Tram also from Vivo City. If you are coming soon, China Town is would a visit as Chinese New Year is at the end of the month. Boat Quay is worth a stroll down but then i'm bias as I own a Bar on Boat Quay! Garden by the Bay is suppose to be good. I would avoid eating at Newton Circus as it's a rip off and I've heard so many horror stories. Bugis is a great place to visit for markets and local street food. The Long Bar at Raffles Hotel is worth a visit (City Hall MRT) and then you can get a Rickshaw ride to Boat Quay or Clark Quay.
  13. Sentosa is a good call, but it's far from typical Singapore, a great day out but not a place I would recommend to stay if you are only here for a few of days.
  14. The Goodwood Park Hotel is Orchard Road area which is great if all you want to do is shop (I avoid Orchard Road at all costs!) The Fairmount or the Swissotel The Stamford are ideally located as it's not only on top of a shopping mall but also City Hall MRT station where you can get to virtually everywhere easily. Boat Quay (where I own a bar!) is only one stop away and Orchard Road a few stops. Marina Bay Sand is great if you can get a good deal. The Infinity Pool on the roof is amazing but don't drink there as it's very expensive.
  15. Singapore has many decent hotels so all depends on budget. Location in the city area isn't really an issue as everywhere is so easy to get to. Feel free to list some hotel options you come up with and I'll let you know if decent
