    Televised Games

I guess its related, but I've looked at the (league) stats for how we've got on in 'strange' kick off times compared to 3pm. I make it P21 W15 from 3pm games and P19 W8 from those played at other times, shows that for some reason we aren't the same in evening/early matches. Shame only one of remaining six is going to be played at 3pm... Probably of no interest to anyone but we've won our last 7 3pm games wherever they've been played, and our last at 17 at SMS stretching back to 12/02/2011 v Carlisle.
  2. Using the vector image I made:
  3. If it helps anyone I've made this image in Illustrator. As the original is a vector image it doesn't have a resolution, so could be used in a large format.
  4. Another graphic designer here, I can't really avoid adding my versions... I'm not a big fan of logos that have too many icons contained within them, so I've tried to simplify it a bit. I'm a big fan of the 60s crest, so I've updated that idea: I've also incorporated that into a slightly altered version of the current one:
  5. I actually saw Pulis play the other day - my girlfriend is at Uni in Lincoln and my family's from Torquay, so thought I take a look at their match while I was up there. I'd describe his performance as solid, League 2 seemed about his level based on that game. Made a few tackles, kept his passing short and simple most of the time. Didn't really do anything wrong. He tried a couple of through balls that didn't quite come off, but I'm fairly sure if I hadn't been actively looking out for him I wouldn't have noticed him at all. Definitely wouldn't have him anywhere near our first team!
  6. I also live in Bristol and do the trip to and from St. Marys regularly, and whilst I have done it in an hour and 10/20mins a few times, I'll be amazed if anyone does it in under 2 hours on a friday evening. There may be no fixed speed cameras, but they often put mobile ones on bridges over the M4, so look out for them. And the last few times I've done the journey there have been 50mph average cameras on the A34 - not sure if they're still there? Although there is plenty of on-street parking if you're prepared to walk 15-20mins, I'm told there's a big fireworks display going on somewhere nearby so that might make it a bit harder. And about picking up tickets at the ground, living away from St. Marys I have to do this a lot for away games, most of the time you have to wait until about 20-30 mins to kick off before they arrive and are dished out, although at Norwich last year we didn't get them until 5 minutes before kick off! The difference is this time I imagine they'll be loads of us wanting to collect, so hopefully they'll have a system in place to deal with it.........
  7. Just back from Wembley (spent most of my life in the Torquay area, so took the chance to see what success is like) and I thought Poke was excellent. Wasn't troubled too much in the way of shots but claimed everything that was there to be claimed, and I thought he was particularly calm which must have helped the back 4. Like Kelvin his kicking is a bit erratic, but on the whole I don't think he would let us down if he found himself in our goal next season. And yes, its just so weird that Torquay are only a league below us!
  8. It seems strange to have quite a few decent memories from away games in such an ultimately unsuccessful season - and I missed both Preston and Ipswich! Derby, Donny, Reading, Barnsley (and even Norwich and Sheff Utd for the character shown on cold tuesday nights) will all stick in the mind for quite some time. Can't really choose between Derby and Reading, both fantastic performances. After Derby I fell into the trap of believing the kids could actually get promotion then after Reading I thought we'd at least pull clear of the bottom. It's just so frustrating that we could never back up the away results and performances with the same at home.
