Verbal Kint's Achievements

  1. Statistically he was the worst shot stopper in the PL last season, and he is currently managing to match that achievement in the Championship - once again he is statistically the worst in the league. We have no hope of getting promoted if he is in goal. From the last few seasons, the highest number of goals any of the promoted teams conceded was in the low 40s. We're currently on 24 already. That's partly down to the style of play and giving the ball away in bad areas, allowing teams to counter on us with a numerical advantage due to so many players being in front of the ball, but it's also because the goalkeeper is a complete liability when it comes to keeping the ball out of his net. It can't carry on, but at this stage I have lost all faith in either the manager or the club to do anything about it
  2. He's far too slow for it unfortunately. He has his strengths, keeping the ball well when playing at a slower tempo, but he is easily outpaced and outmuscled. Not his fault, he just isn't built that way. I don't blame him at all for the last couple of seasons, just don't think he fits in with the way Newcastle play.
  3. Newcastle's success all season has been built on being quick, powerful, athletic and just playing at a tempo that teams haven't been able to cope with. The antithesis of JWP. I also can't see why West Ham would seem him as a replacement for Rice who has all of these qualities too. He's off though and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Brighton as a MacAllister replacement maybe (a significant downgrade though)? I struggle to see him being a success at any of the top 7 or 8
  4. Graham Potter is a Claude Puel type. Lots of possession without creating a lot. His Brighton team were effective but also pretty dull. De Zerbi has completely transformed the same group of players to become a much better attacking team
  5. He should be one of the first out the door this summer. The thought of him being made captain makes me want to vomit. Awful, awful player
  6. This. Good captains and leaders don't allow standards to slip in the way he's suggesting they have
  7. Presumably Wilcox will know Vieira very well from their time at City's academy
  8. Not most, but definitely would have beaten ours
  9. A team picked to stay in the game for an hour and then hope the subs can win it
  10. McCarthy, KWP, ABK, Salisu/DCC, Perraud, Lavia, JWP, Alcaraz, Sulemana, S.Armstrong, Onuachu. It really isn't that complicated
  11. I'm afraid I have zero faith in him to get it right second time round. He spent months and months evaluating Jones and was even prepared to pay millions in compensation to get him, despite him being so utterly hopeless. I struggle to believe the next manager can be worse than Jones, but I'm still worried about who he comes up with
  12. Everyone knows he's miles out of his depth and should be sacked, but at a minimum he should be told he's no longer doing the media interviews and press conferences. It's embarrassing the club every time he opens his mouth
  13. My prediction: Bazunu Bree Lyanco Bednarek Salisu Perraud JWP Lavia Elyounoussi Armstrong Adams Lose 3-0
  14. This is why you shouldn't pay too much attention to players' opinions. You end up sacking a manager that took a team to an 11th place finish with Vestergaard, Bednarek and Stephens as his centre backs and you replace him with some silly, overly aggressive lower league manager with an inferiority complex who would be better suited to managing Portsmouth in the third division than managing Southampton in the PL. And paying over 10 million in order to do it
  15. I'm struggling to remember us having a player who looked this bad so consistently and yet continued to get games. He's one of the worst signings we've ever made
