  1. Agreed, not only football wise but living abroad for a bit, and the challenges that come with it, may toughen him up. The next 18 months will be important if he’s to reach the levels that were touted 4 years or so ago.
  2. I wouldn’t usually believe that sort of theory, but it’s exactly what he did when at Man Utd and we played them early in the season - lots of pre match talk of Fonte going to Utd. Not doubting there are genuine transfer links, but if they’re Spurs are accepting a deal is more likely in the summer, not sure what they’d gain from leaking this now.
  3. Correct, just checked and you can get a split return ticket for circa £33, arriving at 12.45 and leaving just before 6.30pm.
  4. One of the reasons he wanted to leave in the summer was that a player only gets such a chance “once in their career” I.e. he’ll get a sizeable signing on fee from another club if he’s out of contract, so unless Arsenal can match that I wouldn’t be overly surprised to see him stick around until the summer.
  5. Almost certain that I saw us linked with Vardy in his Fleetwood days.
  6. I’m having issues copying the full article, but a piece in The Athletic this morning stating Crocker will start on 1st Feb to oversee the youth academy, sports medicine and science departments. We’re still on the hunt for a head of recruitment but not expecting an appointment before the end of the season....
  7. Read somewhere that the Chelsea buyback expires before the summer transfer window, albeit that doesn’t deflect from your point that he’d be too pricey for us, not to mention Man City, Leicester etc have also been linked. Incidentally was at the Bmouth game today, and it turned a little toxic at the end - fans berating players within ear shot whilst the match was still ongoing for instance. Said players took it well and engaged the supporters back, but it was worse than anything I’ve seen at St Marys in recent times, even in the 0-9. Although not a wide consensus, majority of fans around me were making comments about wanting a “better manager”, time for Howe to go, confused by his subs etc. Yes they’ve had lots of injuries, but today King and Brooks would be the only players usually considered part of the starting 11 that were ruled out, so not exactly down to the bare bones, as their old friend would say...
  8. From that link on Bakker: “Mitchel Bakker is quick, both in terms of physical pace and in-match intelligence. Combine this with his good passing technique and you get a very competent left-back in a high-pressing, ball-playing-focused defensive line.” Clear concerns around a lack of experience, but in terms of a player profile that sounds spot on. Interesting either way! Wonder whether it’s a loan/ perm / loan with perm option.
  9. Worth noting that his team (Le Harve) are currently 7th in the French second tier, which is probably the equivalent of lower end League 1 / League 2 over here. Not saying he’s not any good (never heard of him!) just that he’s currently playing at a level lower than Adams was last year.
  10. The game is only 3 days away, think you may be suffering from a Christmas / new year blur!
  11. Fantastic again today! Solely responsible for the fact most fans aren’t making a new centre back #1 priority in the transfer window.
  12. Correct, due to streaming of the match on Amazon Prime. Quite likely to catch a few out!
  13. My views 100%, felt a bit cheated in the summer that the deal in 2018 was a loan with an obligation to buy. However by far our best player this season, if the POTY awards were held now he’d come first, second and third.
