  1. Agree. Couldn't stand him playing for us. Only dislodged Harding as he could put a decent cross in - every other part of his game, particularly positioning awareness, was awful.
  2. We've been waiting many years for a chance to get our own back on them - bring it on!!
  3. Wow! Amazes me what some people see. "Not a PL player between them" referring to our CBs. Baffling comment! This dude above clearly doesn't rate the young JB who has been solid and made very few mistakes since playing his 21 consecutive PL matches under Ralph. Nor JV who, after a dodgy start, has steadily improved and has clearly been missed in recent matches. Nor Yoshida, who has been consistent, steady and reliable since being frozen out in the first part of the season. Not to mention his excellent mentality and wanting to stay with us when he could be earning a fortune abroad. Stephens, I won't go into. Apparently, all these guys wouldn't make a PL CB between them. Can this user explain/justify his thinking, please?
  4. Yeah, big game for Bed at the back as Stephens will probably have a clumsy error or two in him at some point. Yoshida is a big miss. This could potentially be a very exciting game based on our line-up and the fact that we're going to attack and go for it - something that B'mouth will almost certainly do, too. 3-2, perhaps?!
  5. Shame, really, that it's taken until now to get him into the first-team picture on (hopefully) a longer-term basis. He is 22, after all, so can't really be considered a 'young prospect' in the same way that the likes of Valery or Slattery are.
  6. This has the potential to be a very exciting and even high-scoring game, with both teams now virtually safe and in good form and full of confidence. I'm thinking it could be a 3-2 scoreline for us or them!
  7. I'm glad they had Neves starting, too, as he must have tried about 6 or 7 long-range shots, none of which threatened. I'd have been very frustrated if one of our players kept shooting from range and wasting chances. Is he really being talked about at 100m?! Geez.
  8. Great feeling! Rarely do we get a crucial win and other results go our way, too! Thought the back 3 all played well - lots of important headers and interceptions, minus Yoshida's weak header that dropped to Jiminez. But Yoshi had an excellent game overall. It was clear that JWP in a deeper central role doesn't work. OR coming on was important in the 2nd half. So pleased for Long, too. Harassed them at a time when they didn't want to be defending and won us free-kicks to relieve pressure. Deserved his goal.
  9. Top guy - hope he stays with us for years to come, even if we strengthen at the back as his experience, leadership and personality alone are huge benefits to the Club.
  10. Spot on. It's very frustrating as we certainly don't give ourselves any advantage when we have a throw-in. It's basic stuff and we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot by clearly not working on this in training (or working on it badly, if we do).
  11. Brighton potentially about to somehow clutch a win from the jaws of defeat. This would give them a massive morale boost.
  12. Yeah, I've wondered this for many years now. We do like to make things harder for ourselves, though!
  13. Yoshida put in a MOTM performance away to Chelsea - interceptions and clearances by the dozen - and Arsenal were always going to pose similar threats the way they come forward. So why is Yoshida on the bench?!?! I wonder what they were doing in Tenerife as this is poor against a pretty average Arsenal side.
