  1. 3. In a league fixture I believe it was 8th September 1965 - Division 2 (when Division 2 was actually Division 2) - Saints 1 Coventry 0 - half-back Ken Wimshurst came on from keeper John Hollowbread (I think this was Hollowbread' last competitive appearance for Saints). Not sure if we used a substitute prior to this in a non-competitive fixture.
  2. Just checked The FA OS and it shows that Arsenal currently have no one serving a first team suspension.
  3. If you pick up Digital Terrestrial TV from either the Rowridge, Salisbury, Hannington or Midhurst transmitter groups you should be receiving BBC Radio Solent on Freeview Channel 719. It is part of the PSB1/BBCA MUX so should also be transmitted on the Freeview Lite transmitters that are associated with the main transmitter groups above. The Vitesse away game was live on Thursday evening via the Hannington transmitter. However when this was implemented towards the end of last season it did seem a bit hit and miss whether they would put live football commentaries on (sometimes they had a non-sports show instead); they seemed to have a preference for putting the fish commentary on a Saturday afternoon even though both Saints and the Cherries were sometimes playing games that had much more riding on them at the same time. This season with both us and Bournemouth being in the Premier League their maybe contractual restrictions (we'll have to wait and see) but if you do live in the right areas and get Radio Solent via Freeview it is another option to keep tabs on.
  4. Looking forward to Saturday where we play Valencia and then either Red Bull Salzburg or Werder Bremen in the Audi Quattro Cup, all four of the games are being shown on BT Sport 1 starting at 3pm.
  5. Sadly not the record for this competition, attendances above 70,000: - 80,841 Wolves v Burnley - 1988 - 76,663 Birmingham v Carlisle - 1995 - 75,057 Stoke v Bristol City - 2000 - 73,476 Saints v Carlisle - 2010 - 72,315 Bristol City v Walsall - 2015
  6. The rule for the FA Cup is slightly different, being "up to 15% of all accommodation"; which depending on the exact definition of "all accommodation" (probably similar to what Steve has outlined above) will be a figure north of 4500 at St Mary's like the Ipswich game (This seasons FA Cup competition rules are available via http://www.thefa.com/thefacup/more/rules (section 21 'Distribution of Tickets' being they key section). Have not looked to see what the Europa League and Champions League rules are; but if we were looking at changing the status quo to create a fixed home 'kop' then it would make sense to take these rules into account when picking a location in the stadium for both the home 'kop' and a variable sized away section.
  7. Another league game that could be impacted is Spurs at SMS on Saturday 25th April. If Spurs make the Europa League quarter finals then they would be due to play the 2nd Leg on Thursday 23rd April in which case our game would be moved after the round of 16 on March 19th; if it had not already been re-scheduled for TV by that time.
  8. Well he is clearly not captain material (for Saints or anyone else down the line) with such an unprofessional public outburst. Grow up Morgan.
  9. So sorry to hear that such an innocuous incident has caused such an injury for Jay; I really feel for him especially missing the opportunity to compete for a place in the England squad for the World Cup Finals. I've already received messages from non-Saints supporters offering their best wishes for Jay's recovery and indicating that they thought he was in with a very good chance of making the final 23. Good luck with your recovery Jay.
