  1. In theory we have loads of goals in the team. Che, Armstrong, Tella have all done it at this level. Stu, Alcaraz should chip in with a decent amount too. However, we just wont create the clear cut chances required. Previously in this league we had Lambert, Sharp, Barnard, Guly and Connonlly. We created so much for them, and their conversion rate was decent. They'd score the half chances too. Far better than we have now.
  2. Similar to a few on here. I think we'll start terribly. We always do but this time there will be reasons. Half the squad wont know if they'll even be here for the rest of the season but more than that, we have an awful losing mentality. That will be shown by Che and Armstrong both struggling despite clearly being more than capable in this league. The style of play will take a while to imbed. And our home crowd will be toxic when we give away (or nearly give away) sloppy goals. We will pick up in form from Christmas onwards but leave ourselves too much to do and finish 9th.
  3. If that's what you're hoping for...be prepared to be disappointed.
  4. Ah those were the days. I was just a teenager and my dad would take me in there. By the time I hit my early 20s it was just a normal boozer on match days. Seem to remember they tried the same at The Royal Oak a few times. Would never get away with it now!
  5. Something that grates on me is how accepting we are as a fanbase these days. People clapping the players off after absolute dross. I’ll be honest, I walked 3/4 around the inside of the stadium on Thursday to give some verbal to the directors. I was the only one who made a peep. Everyone just continued to clap the players down the tunnel. They get away with it far too easily.
  6. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/should-come-with-a-health-warning-ipswich-boss-paul-cook-on-the-trouble-with-managing-portsmouth-3155726 So it turns out the bestest fans in the world are actually the worstest!!
  7. Twitter reacting how you’d expect. Should have had 3 pens and Oxford should have had 2 reds so all the refs fault. The pompey job is the hardest in football and of course, they don’t want to go up anyway. how long have the been in the bottom 2 divisions now? A decade? Genuinely think theyll be in financial difficulties again soon.
  8. Wouldn’t surprise me if the club were actively looking to sell him. Get a bidding war going. Ings himself knows he would need to go somewhere where he plays every week and that will be the main thing. If a top club can offer that, he’s gone.
  9. Glad he’s ok and on the mend again. He had the odd rough patch and shocking game but for the most part we were brilliant under him. He raised the profile of the club. He had a great arrogance about him that he fully warranted. I always wonder how we would have done if we kept him. And by all accounts I’ve heard, he and his brother would have liked to stay. 10. Interesting thread here about why L1&2 won’t finish. Also, play offs won’t happen. Even if they did and it was on points per game, pompey finish 7th so miss out. So pretty much guaranteed another year for them down there [emoji23] I’m so jealous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Uh oh. Not only will the loss in revenue cause a crisis for the club, but think of the billions it brings in for the local economy each game!! https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-facing-seven-figure-losses-season-face-crisis-2597911 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. He’s a huge Patriots fan. A season ticket holder for over 20 years before investing. The Revolution is more of a box tick. They may have got to a few finals, but most MLS teams have. It’s no competition compared to the PL. Seems to have very little interest comparatively. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Talking to a fan of their “soccer” team New England Revolution, they’re not overly pleased. Seems they’re ignored and have been promised a stadium for years that hasn’t come to fruition, apparently. Seems Robert Kraft has also been put off investing in the Premier League due to the lack of salary cap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The ones that stand out are; Newcastle away in 2013. I was getting picked up at 5am in our mini bus so needed to get an early night. Decided to go to the pub with a mate for “a couple” which ended up in on a full night out in town. Stumbled home at 3am with a lovely lady who kept me awake until 4:55am when I suddenly jumped up, got dressed and left her in my room to get my lift. Never saw her again, could easily have robbed me. Beers all the way up there, beers all night and got back to the hotel around 4am the following morning, then had to go to the game. No idea how I managed to stay awake that long but I wanted to sleep through the match. I do remember being in a nightclub that night which was pretty much 100% saints fans and was a brilliant laugh. Then Liverpool away the same year. A huge group of us rented a ridiculously massive lucrative apartment. Why they let us have it I’ll never know. Also the minibus breaking down in Liverpool, having to taxi to Manchester airport to rent a car to drive back. Fortunately I wasn’t driving but there’s no way my mate was in a fit state to. That was a horrendous journey home and then I had to move house the next day. Finally, San Siro. Just a surreal time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My dad is a cabbie with COPD (we’re trying our best to get him to stay in) and he won’t accept cash now. Card payments only and you have to sit in the back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
