  1. This post makes no sense....... bottom line is with a few exceptions players will move to a club that offers them the best chance of success and more importantly the most money. It makes no difference if the players are English or from abroad........ Lambert, Lallana, Clyne, Shaw, Chambers, Oxlade chamberlain are an example of English players who have moved on in the last few years
  2. It was inevitable someone would start a post like this if leicester won today....... Pelligrino is starting to look like I feared he would be which is a very average manager and not the right man for the job. That in no way suddenly makes puel the right fit.
  3. I don't hate Man Utd at all. Hatred reserved for Pompey and I can't stand Everton or Liverpool mainly due to them beating us in semi finals in the 1980s.
  4. I'm not comparing the managerial records of Puel with Gray or Wigley I'm comparing the fact that when we appointed Gray and Wigley everyone was left feeling flat and underwhelmed. If Puel got the job I think the vast majority of fans would have that same feeling. Replacing Koeman was always going to be a hard job but there are better options out there than Puel. Recent history at our club shows the damage that can be done very quickly by getting the wrong manager in. In the most recent poll on here only 4 options were given and out of the 415 who voted Puel only got 45 votes......... hardly the peoples choice is he
  5. Puel would be a massive backward step. Appointing this man now would be on a par with the decisions in the past of giving the job to stuart gray and steve wigley. The board need only look at the recent poll on this site and the echo to see this manager is not who the fans want. I cant see why he is even being considered as an option. If this man gets the job we need to replace #wemarchon with #wefellover
  6. puel would be the most uninspiring of choices, I can't see why he is even being considered as an option. His appointment would leave fans and probably also the players feeling flat. I would lose all faith in the club if puel gets the job
  7. I think we need a big name manager someone to give the fans the buzz that we had with Koeman and show the players we are serious about progression. There are some big name managers out there who if we made a play for them could be tempted to come to saints. Somebody like Eddie Howe could in time prove to be good but in my opinion wouldn't be the right choice at the moment as he is too much of a gamble. I would like to see us go for Simeone but obviously that won't happen so Pellegrini or Emre, I wonder if Benitez wishes he hadn't committed to the geordies quite so soon.
  8. Les Reed has been made to look a fool so many times with his statements. It's hard to believe anything he says anymore to be honest. I think its apparent that Ron didn't get on too well with Les and I can understand that. How can Les with his track record in management look to dictate to Koeman and tell him how he should be doing his job. Also I have never heard Reed say that Ron was doing a good job at Saints. Even when asked a direct question recently about how well he thought Koeman had done last season he waffled on and said he was just part of the system and ended up praising himself for appointing Ron into the job. I don't think Ron will be leaving saints simply because of Les Reed but I think Les has certainly played his part in Ron seemingly not wanting to stay. I wish the club would stop trying to put a positive spin of everything and be more honest. The fans are not stupid and I'm sure the majority have the ability to see through the bull**** that is often put out in press releases to prepare us for bad news as its so transparent.
  9. I wouldn't swap Koeman for any other manager
  10. Anyone who was there that day at Highbury will surely say the Adrian Heath goal, we should have won the cup that year and it still breaks my heart thinking about that goal
  11. Losing Morgan, Toby and Clyne would be more of a loss than Lallana, Lovren and Lambert and will not be as easy to replace but remember we also lost Shaw and Chambers last summer as well. I do think if we are willing to sell Clyne and Morgan then we should do absolutely everything to get Toby and that includes smashing our transfer record if needed. I don't think your point about us over achieving last season is right. I think with the players we had available and Koeman as manager we did not overachieve if anything the way the season fell apart after February we underachieved and should have finished with more points on the board and progressed further in both cups.
  12. Would be great if Austin signed and I think with the long season ahead we need him as players will get injured or drop form over the season but we have a fair bit of depth up front now with Rodriguez, Mane, Pelle, Long, Juanmi and Gallagher. We could however have achieved so much more last season if we had a regular goalscorer like Austin in the team in that period when the goals dried up
  13. Hope this is true, I think wanyama and mane will be our key players next season
