  1. Wanyama is one of the strongest players I've seen. Sheils is talking nonsense as per usual. As much as he isn't a master on the ball he doesn't panic. He isn't really the Diame/Toure type that runs at the opposing time, much more defensively minded. I'd be surprised if he doesn't start most games as even when you have most of th ball he is excellent at stopping counter attacks.
  2. He proved himself against better teams last season in higher pressure situations than teams like Norwich find themsves in. More to his game than just a poacher as well, his link up play is excellent He's going to QPR anyway.
  3. You'll see in time what I mean, his passing is fine for the type of player he is, just don't expect cross field passes etc., its when he tries things like that his distribution is questionable. His tackling can be rash at times and excellent at other times, this will improve with time, there was already signs of that happening at us. With regards to shooting, he does try it too much but in more defensive role this shouldn't be a problem. However he is capable of this He also poses a real threat aerially from set pieces. I'm gutted to lose him but 12.5 million was great business for us and hopes we can now sign a much needed creative midfielder.
  4. Southampton have got a very good player here. His distribution at times lets him down but his positional skills and sheer power make him an excellent holding midfielder. And I don't mean to be cheeky here but I think Southampton will be a stepping stone for him. He also has a good strike in him but can at times try and shoot when there are much better options. His defensive skills are second to none with the exception of rash tackling at times, expect him to pick up a few cards. He will certainly add some steel to your midfield and will make you harder to break down has he protects the defence very well which IMO Southampton need with their centre backs with the exception of Lovren. Best of luck with the season ahead:)
  5. Brown is in 25k a week along with Ledley. I don't think Sharp is good enough to replace Hooper. I would rather we paid the money for Hosiner who is a better striker than both. I don't doubt he would be good enough for the league but do you guys believe he would cut it in the Champions League?
  6. He has said nothing wrong. We signed him for 900k and sold him for 12.5 million. From our point of view that is fantastic business. With Hooper now looking likely to move our transfer policy is starting to prove how good it is. As a Celtic fan I'm delighted with this deal, as much of a blow it is to lose Wanyama, the money gives us a chance to strengthen in key positions. He has every right to be proud of the deal, he developed him from a player who came looking raw, to one of the few players in our team who were genuinely Champions League class.
  7. Kerrydale Street is a better forum than talk Celtic btw, I don't have an account on either though. For what it is worth, I don't think Hooper is a 10 million player but he is a very good finisher, his goal when we got beat 4 2 at Ibrox this season was one of the best finishes I have seen. AsI have said earlier financially we are in a very good position so I doubt we would sell especially when top of the league. Him and Stokes are very god partners for each other their link up play is great, I know noticed quite a few of people on here seem to look down on Stokes, incorrectly IMO he is also a very good player and him and Hooper suit each other to a tee. Thanks for allowing me on this forum it's very well run.
  8. Lol, I agree he isn't worth it but we are a well run club and we don't need to sell anyone.
  9. From a pretty good source, Hooper trained for Celtic today so the guy earlier was lying. Celtic want at least 10 million for Hooper so 8 million would be rejected. If we sell Hooper we want Rhodes and another striker to replace him but from what I have been sold there is very small chance we will sell Hooper in our current position. Regarding Jelavic from the other side of the city his agent is trying to find him a new club but can't find one willing to meet rangers asking price just now. I know this for a fact. To the people who laughed at my post about our players yesterday you show a lot of ignorance, we do have some very good players just now who could easily play in the epl, Hooper, Kayal, Wanyama, Ki, Ledley, Forrest and Izaguirre would improve a good amount of epl teams. We have no interest in the Charlton striker either, that was just a made up story, we are looking at a few German based strikers though, we need another striker who can hold up the ball and is good in the air.
  10. They are 2 of the worst teams in the league, the top half of the league, us and Rangers are better than most if not all championship teams and better than some perm teams, hearts and Motherwell, better than some championship teams, St Mirren and St Johnstone are lower championship teams at best. Our league isn't very good anyone who says otherwise is stupid but, we are a very big club which attracts a lot of players to us, also quite a few in here seem to seriously underestimate some of the players we have just now. And I still can't believe someone said Weir was one of the best players in the spl. As I am only allowed 3 posts per day I will go a bit more in depth. Forster and Zaluska our 2 keepers would most likely be first choice for you. Matthews and lustig would probably be first choice and Mark Wilson when fit too. Cha probably not. Rogne would be first choice for any team in the championship when fit. Mulgrew has come in to being a very good centre half too. Majstorovic and Wilson are both better than Hooiveld. Fonte would get a game for us. Izaguirre would be a first choice for majority of teams in prem, we don't have another left back haha Forrest would get a game for most bottom 10 prem teams and some top half teams. Our 4 centre mids Ki, Kayal, Ledley and Wanyama would all get started for teams in the premiership, easily the strongest part of our team, some very good players. A fit Commons would be a great asset to any team with his goals. Brown isn't a great footballer but his drive and energy make him an important player. McCourt has a lot of ability but just isn't fit enough he would be good for most championship teams. Llanna would maybe get in our team but would be a good signing for us to add depth. Hooper is a great finisher and easily good enough for the prem. Stokes a very good player has lots of ability flopped in England but he was only very young would get a game for most if not all Championship teams. Samaras is just Samaras can be rotten can be brilliant on his day would tear teams apart sadly doesn't happen enough. Bangura, is just rotten incapable of controlling a ball. Lambert would improve us he is exactly the type of striker we need. Bye all for another 24 hours.
  11. Neither do I but some of the things the guy said were just stupid and uncalled for.
  12. To the guy who said davie weir is one of the best players in the spl, you are wrong he has played 2 games this season unfortunately, he was poor last year as well. Doubt we will accept 6 million for hooper either. On the points made about the spl, people are showing a startling lack of knowledge describing hibs as a decent team if it was for how bad Dunfermline are they would be going down. Hearts and Motherwell are both decent teams as well. I am under no illusions that we are a great team we aren't but I think we would do well in the championship the team top (you's) have 2 starting defenders who were awful for us playing week in week out. Don't get me wrong I think you's are a good team with a big support but I think you are overlooking the fact that we have a good young team who competed well in the Europa League group stages. The guy on the hooper will never sign for you's thread is an arse, sorry about him.
  13. It is meant to say Ki isn't guaranteed a start sorry.
