  1. Yeah we don’t always look quite so good after a break. Some of that will be down to the opposition too though, they’ll also have had a break, maybe clear up some injuries but also a lot of time to specifically prepare for how we play. ‘Boro probably won’t make playoffs but imagine they’ll see this as a game they need to get something out of. An early goal for us could deflate them.
  2. I agree with you, Truth Social is a great investment, probably the best investment ever. I've been talking to some people, clever people, and a lot of them are saying this is biggest thing in investments since history began. If I had a pot to piss in I'd be investing it in Truth Social for sure. You should definitely do it. Everything you own - would be mental not to. Good luck mate!
  3. Yeah but politicians are all the same. Umm something about defining a woman, and boats.
  4. Ha ha, hilarious. Fact of the matter is even you think there should be a by-election. You even think it's principled. Problem with you is that every time SOG comes out with something you immediately go the opposite way. It was exactly the same with Brexit - remember labelling Julian Lewis a remainer? Busted flush mate.
  5. This is strange because when Anna Soubrey et al defected to Change UK in early 2019 you compared them to Douglas Carswell who defected to UKIP and said, "Wonder if they’ll be as principled as the tories that defected to UKIP and both fought by elections. Somehow I doubt it." Here's the link: So I'm guessing you think a by election would actually be principled? Incidentally Carswell resigned on 28th August 2014 and the next GE was in 7th May 2015 so in both Lee Anderson and Douglas Carswell situations there was less than a year before a GE. Interweb never forgets.
  6. I know Mane gets dragged up a lot but my recollection isn't that of Mane being universally slated. Obviously there will be some but it didn't feel like overwhelming negative - maybe that's memory playing tricks on me. With regard to KS - he needs to be better, simple as that. His output is way behind Fraser and Edozie even on a minutes per goal/assist basis. He may have more pace and a few more tricks but he's not making them count and is why he's second or third choice. The ball is in his court - every time he comes on he has a tremendous opportunity and he's not going to get much better than playing in the championship in this team. I've defended him in the past but he can't complain; if he thinks he's that good then he needs to deliver.
  7. Obviously hope you're right but people like Scaramucci have done pretty well out of knocking Trump and predicting his demise to an audience desperate to hear it. CNN, MSNBC and to an extent the BBC lap it up and there's a cast of familiar faces like Scaramucci, Mary Trump and Michael Cohen always on hand to provide it. It's a comforting little bubble but none of them know what's likely to happen anymore than the rest of us do. The actions of the Supreme Court are the most worrying aspect - they're doing exactly what Trump wants them to do which is delay as much as possible. About the only saving grace I can see for the Democrats is that the abortion issue is hitting Republicans hard.
  8. I think this is an opportunity for Martin to say how brave the firefighters have been. Tremendous courage. So so proud of them.
  9. I had a dream last night that Russell Martin was a contestant on Mastermind and all his answers were "Is it Jack Stephens?"
  10. Jeez, really? That's mental. I saw the press conference but obviously they didn't go into detail. Can understand him coming off social media but what sort of sick twat writes stuff like that? Even if they're on a wind up it's well beyond the realms of normal behaviour. Anyone writing that kind of thing needs help. I actually like Smallbone - I don't think he's suited to a more defensive role but further forward I think he's pretty good. Keeps the ball moving, decent passer, good vision and weighs in with a few goals.
  11. I agree that I much prefer the championship but a lot of that is because, right now, we've got better resources than every club except possibly Leicester and Leeds (you could debate for years the various merits of us versus them). The Championship is more of a meritocracy than the Premier League but not by much. Don't go up this season and we're probably Norwich or WBA level next season, and bloody Stoke in a few years time. I'm not going to enjoy that quite so much.
  12. I saw him once in the queue at the cinema to see "Boxing Helena". I assume, like me, he was there to see Sherilyn Fenn in varying states of undress under the excuse that it was an "arty" film. I didn't speak to him but you could tell he was tall from the way he looked. That aside he was a good manager and responsible for a lot of great games and an exciting young side that was (mostly) fun to watch. His last years are a terrible shame as it seems to be for a lot of players from that era. RIP Chris.
  13. Have to say it’s a poor transfer right now. I imagine he was bought as a first choice defensive midfielder and the manager doesn’t trust him even when he has no other options in that position. Personally I’d play him but if Martin doesn’t think he’s up to it then the club should never have bought him in the first place.
