  1. Well then... That would be a turn out for the books! Think he could play a big role in saving our season if he does come home.
  2. Assuming we spend 75mil (dreamland I know)... Quincy Promes - On form goal scoring attacking midfielder (i.e. not Nathan f*****g Redmond). The player we should have replaced Mane with - 20mil/25mil Bas Dost - Although possibly now out of our price range considering his success this season. Exactly the type of striker we've been missing since Lambert/Pelle left - 20/25mil Walcott - Goal scorer. Positive player. Knows the league and the club. - 15/20mil If Bertrand goes (now unlikely considering his injury) then I'd get Shaw back in. Possibly one for the summer.
  3. It's abundantly clear that Boufal should start in place of Redmond, but as others have mentioned I'd be interested to see him played centrally meaning we'd need another option of the left (McQueen?). Reluctant to try 5 at the back mainly because of that total s**t show of a game against Wolves, but if it gives us an option to try 2 up front then it may be worth a go?
  4. Austin is a difficult player to judge because he has no outstanding strengths other than knowing where the goal is really. His physicality is poor, he's not technically gifted, doesn't have much creative vision, and like it or not he isn't particularly mobile. Personally I think he's the weakest of the 3 and although he was our leading goal scorer last season with 9 goals, 4 of them were penalties. Yeah yeah I know they still count, but I disagree with strikers being judged on their goal return with pen's included. Les Reed could probably bang a few in if asked and there's a reason Austin is so keen to grab the ball the moment we get a penalty. So with 5 goals from open play, he's on par with Long for goal return and 1 behind Gabbi (who only had half a season). I'd be interested to see those 3 start as you suggest. Long and Gabbi's pace either side of Austin could work well and they would both play very directly (which admittedly may limit our play to counter attacking, but possibly not). In my mind, it's the only was to play to Austin's poacher game.
  5. He just isn't. Our defensive midfielders looked more dangerous going forwards. Labelling someone as a scapegoat for the season doesn't excuse the fact that he's s**t. Players get singled out and commented on for good reason. Judging by your opinion, I'm going to assume you're a mate of his or something as there's just no way you can describe his performance as 'utterly fantastic' unless you have some kind of personal connection.

    Redmond

He was f*****g awful on Saturday and has been all season. The moment he gets the on the ball he kills all momentum by either doing 6 step overs while inching forwards and then be tackled, or playing a simple back pass. He's incapable of shooting from distance, can't cross, has no creativity, doesn't drive forwards with enough speed, and moans all game. He's a total waste of space and should be benched. Tadic is little better though. If Sim's was fit then I'd start him, but as it stands I'd give Boufal a shot. There's a talented player in there somewhere and I think the confidence from an extended run in the team will do him wonders.
  7. Very foolish of him. Hopefully Boufal will now start instead and get a run of games and some confidence.

    Lawro

He's a dinosaur and also a bit of a prat.
  9. Would be a real shame in my opinion. Who would we replace him with? Trippier?
  10. Probably the best picture I've ever taken.
  11. I've watched it a few times and still think he should do better. As others have mentioned he absolutely should have come for the ball in the first place, but even so he still flaps and drops his hands. Watch the video from behind the goal.
  12. 3rd should have been the easiest to save. Right at him, perfect height, but he drops his hands and almost ducks away from it?! Rule 1 of goalkeeping, make yourself big and imposing at all times. I like Forster but he needs to be dropped (injury or not).
  13. Well done boys, proud to be a Saints fan after that performance. Forster let us down yesterday. The first was poor positioning. The free kick wasn't anywhere near the corner, was at head height, and he had plenty of time to see it. Bottom line is it should have been a save. 2nd goal was well placed but it was fairly slow, think he should have done better. Their 3rd goal was directly at him and for some reason he brings his hands down?! That aside, it was a great day and I'll remember it fondly (despite being sat in the neutral area surrounded by Mancs and being called every name under the sun, really can't stand their support).
  14. You've got to be a little bit mental to commute by bike in central London anyway. Doesn't matter how careful drivers/cyclists are, people are constantly being injured/killed. I've personally witness 2 deaths and countless accidents over the last few years. It's just not worth it.
